GANGS NEW YORK.
It is a 2002 film made by the director "Martin Scorsese", which is set in the time of 1860 of the nineteenth century, and describes the story of a city in conflict and rivalries between two powers, which want to rule the city, pitting the inhabitants against each other, and unleashing a civil war in the territory "Five Points" in lower Manhattan.
Plot:
The story takes place in New York in the time of the XIX century, where two gangs fight for the territory of Five Points, the fight between "Natives" and "Foreigners", the leader of the natives is "Bill the butcher" and the leader of the foreigners is "Father Vallon", they face their gangs which comes out with the victory "The natives" under the command of the butcher who kills Father Vallon, after the battle ends he shows his respect and lets them bury the father.
Father Vallon has a son named Amsterdam Vallon who is taken to a boarding school and there he grows up with the mentality of someday returning and avenging his father's death. Sixteen years later Amsterdam returns to Five Points, New York, to carry out his revenge and kill Butcher Bill, who is now the boss and leader of the whole territory. Amsterdam forms his gang with his father's old friends and they help him fight Bill.
Of course, the plot also has its share of drama and love, with the romance between Amsterdam and the beautiful "Jenny Everdeane".

The movie gangs of new york is an exciting story, set in the old times, I love what matin did adapting the story from the book to the screen, telling the story from the point of view of the characters Amsterdam and Bill the butcher and representing the fight between the gangs, imagining a new york as epic as the one he created. This film went down in the history of cinema, becoming a cult movie, although it was not a blockbuster over the years it has gained fans, it is an underrated film by film critics. I could say that it is based on real facts since it is also inspired by the political and social conflicts of the time, it also touches the theme of social classes and racism towards immigrants.
