PATCH ADAMS.
This is a movie from 1998, and is based on the story of Dr. Patch Adams, who created a method to make patients with serious illnesses could have a better quality of life all from the joy.
Plot:
The story of the movie is about the story of a medical student named Pactch adams, that as the story develops is challenging the conventional methods of medicine so that leads him to have many people who opposed his healing methods, among all that, also struggles with his personal problems, but at the same time with his love and enthusiasm to help people and give them a better quality of life, invents this method, to make them laugh, thus discovering that the joy laughter and love, are also a medicine. Thus Dr. Patch Adams created this method that has been used all over the world saving many lives and in the most serious cases, giving quality of life in their last moments to his patients.
Main characters:
The main protagonist is the great "Robin Williams" who is an actor loved by all, who a after his death continues to make us laugh with all the legacy he left us, he plays "Hunter "Patch" Adams".
Other actors include :
"Daniel London" as Truman Schiff who is a friend of Adams, "Monica Potter" as Carin Fisher who plays a patient of Adams, "Philip Seymour Hoffman" as Mitch Roman, "Bob Gunton" as Dean Walcot who is the dean of the medical school.
Among all these actors, of course, the great performance of "Robin Williams" stands out.
Release date:
The film was released on December 25, 1998, and cost $90 million to make. The film grossed 202 million dollars worldwide, becoming one of the biggest hits of the actor "Robin Williams".

Director:
The person in charge of directing the film was "Tom Shadyac" who is an American film director who has worked in films such as ACE VENTURA, he is characterized by directing comedy films, which is his specialty, for his style of extravagant humor.
Producer:
The producer of the film was "Mike Farrell" who besides being a great producer, has a career as a television actor, appearing in series such as M.A.S.H, where he plays Captain B.J. Hunnicutt. In the movie Patch Adams, besides being the producer, he also plays the role of "Dr. Arthur Mendelson". Throughout his career he has worked in different projects both in film and TV, he has also been involved in political activities and social human rights issues.
Screenplay:
The screenplay for this story was written by "Steve Oedekerk" who has written screenplays for great movies such as ACE VENTURA among others, besides being screenwriters, he is also a film producer and director, well known in the film industry, mostly for his style of scriptwriting to make adsurd comedies, with very creative visuals. Steve has left a mark in the film industry and continues to make creative projects today.

Soundtrack:
The music of the movie is written and composed by the musician "Marc Shaiman", who created a great instrumental score, that complements the story of each scene and transmits you many emotions, it also has great songs such as the outstanding "Faith of the Heart" sung by "Rod Stewart" and "Make Someone Happy" sung by "Jimmy Durante". Without a doubt Marc's music is unique and makes you feel every moment of the movie.
Visual effects:
The effects of the film are not outstanding, since the production focuses more on the narration of the story of the character and the message of this same, the interpretation of the actors that transmit us the emotional and the drama of the whole tape. So the visual effects in the film are minimal, only used to give a touch of reality to some scenes.
Curious fact:
One fact is that the real Patch Adams worked hand in hand with the director and actor Robin Williams, giving him details of each of his stories so that both understood and could capture in the film the essence of his philosophy in medicine and the humanitarian field. It is also appreciated that in the film ADAMS himself makes a cameo as one of the patients who appears in the film.

Based on:
The movie is based on the life and memories of Dr. Patch Adams, all his experiences being a humanitarian activist in medicine and his contribution with that method that revolutionized him at that time, giving to understand to medical schools that the tools of love laughter and compassion can be used as a therapeutic method, to give better quality of life to people with serious illnesses. Including illnesses such as depression, anxiety, etc. This is what the tape is based on.

Criticism:
The critics are divided, some take it as a simple story and others as a great movie, it highlights the performance of "Robin Williams" who did a spectacular job giving life to Dr. Adams, we can also say that the comedy and drama are great depending on the taste of each one. The movie was a commercial success and has been very popular with the public but especially with those interested in humanitarian work, the critics itself is great. It is a great story that leaves us with a spectacular message of life and struggle.
Opinion:
In my personal opinion it is a movie that leaves us a spectacular and very positive message for everything that contains his life story and struggle with this great method that he brought us, and that he fought for medical schools worldwide to take into account his method as a therapy to help patients with serious illnesses, and many people with depression and anxiety. His method goes from love, compassion and laughter and humor as therapy, apart from all that social struggle that he left us, because he helped to realize many centers of humanitarian medicine to help patients with all these ailments. For example here in Venezuela there are foundations like Dr. Yaso's, which are people who are responsible for bringing laughter and humor to hospitals disguised as doctors and clowns, they focus on the philosophy of life and the method of Dr. Patch Adams. A great character this gentleman.

Conclusion:
To conclude, I can tell you that the film is excellent, a work of art of cinema, a dramatic comedy that leaves us with many mixed feelings and that helps us and serves us as a reflection and life therapy as well. Apart from all the talent of Robin, who we know is no longer with us, he left us this masterful film to continue enjoying. Let's remember what the actor "Charles Chaplin" used to say "a day without laughter is a day lost", let's not forget that.
