Let's "float" again. Today I bring you the review I promised when I posted my opinion on It (Part 1), so today I'll give you my opinion on chapter II of this saga. Technically, I saw it first thanks to The Simpsons, which released its own version of both movies, which, by the way, I also really enjoyed, and then I saw the theatrical version. I was very pleased to see that it had similar details to the first part; that is, scenes that could be considered the same in both parts, only one with them as children and the other with them as adults.
Vamos a "Flotar" de nuevo. Hoy les traigo la reseña que les prometí cuando publiqué mi opinión sobre Eso (Parte 1), por lo que hoy les daré mi opinión sobre el capítulo II de esta saga. Técnicamente la vi primero gracias a Los Simpsons que sacó su propia versión de ambas películas, que, por cierto, también me agradó mucho y ya después vi la versión cinematográfica. Me agradó mucho ver que tenía detalles similares con la primera parte, es decir, escenas que se podrían decir que fueron las mismas en ambas partes sólo que una cuando fueron niños y otra cuando fueron adultos.
I really enjoyed seeing Bill Skarsgård again as this enigmatic demonic clown, and the director gave him the freedom to use his talent for moving his eyes from side to side during the film's most intense moments. I also liked the cast chosen to play the now-adult children, seeing how their childhood traumas never disappeared but instead haunted them throughout their lives, preventing them from overcoming them, and how, when they came together, they felt unstoppable and powerful again in the face of any adversity.
Me gustó bastante ver de nuevo a Bill Skarsgård interpretando a este enigmático payaso demoníaco y que el director le diera la libertad de usar su talento para mover los ojos de un lado a otro en los momentos más tensos de la película. También me gustó el elenco elegido para interpretar a los niños ahora de adultos, ver cómo sus traumas de la infancia nunca desaparecieron sino que los arrastraron a lo largo de su vida sin poder superarlos y que al juntarse, se sentían de nuevo imparables y poderosos ante cualquier adversidad.
That behavioral shift from when they were separated and acting individually, each living their lives as normally as possible, to the change they underwent when they came together as a group, was immediately noticeable to me, and I imagine many of you reading this, being the film buffs you are, also saw it. One detail I didn't particularly like was the death of one of the members of the Losers' Club. He felt weak and believed that the fear he'd lived with all those years would put his companions in more danger by feeding the clown with those fears. In my opinion, this could have been handled better and not given the plot such a tragic edge, since, regardless of what happened, in both cases, the group was affected by the loss of their friend.
Ese cambio conductual de cuando estaban separados y actuando de manera individual viviendo cada uno su vida lo más normal que podían al cambio que tuvieron cuando se juntaron grupalmente lo noté enseguida e imagino que muchos de ustedes que me leen también lo vieron como buenos cinéfilos que son. Y un detalle que no me agradó mucho fue la muerte de uno de los integrantes del Club de los Perdedores porque se sentía débil y creyó que por el miedo con el cual vivió todos esos años, haría que sus compañeros corrieran más peligro al alimentar al payaso con tales temores. Esto, a mi parecer pudo haberse desarrollado mejor y no darle un toque tan trágico a la trama, ya que independientemente de lo que hubiera sucedido, en ambos casos fueron afectados grupalmente por la pérdida de su amigo.
Another aspect to highlight in Chapter II is that the horror they tried to develop in this film leaned more towards gore than the psychological terror shown in the first part. Yes, I liked seeing some blood in this new film, but it lost some of its impact in terms of the suspense and fear they wanted to convey with the clown. Therefore, this part could be considered more of a cathartic closure for the protagonists, finally bringing to a close the cycle that caused them so much trauma since childhood.
Otro aspecto a resaltar del Capítulo II es que el terror que quisieron desarrollar en este film se inclinó más al Gore que al terror psicológico mostrado en la primera parte. Sí, me gustó ver algo de sangre en esta nueva película, pero perdió algo de peso en cuanto al suspenso y al miedo que querían transmitir con el payaso. Por lo que se podría considerar esta parte como si fuera más un cierre catártico para los protagonistas y así finalmente cerrar el ciclo que les generó tantos traumas desde la infancia.
Both plots are different, but they maintain the essence of Stephen King's style. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick the first for its horror style, but I can't help but think of the incredible performances by the great cast chosen for the second part. McAvoy was brilliant, Jessica Chastain was great too, and Bill Hader was masterful because he injects a touch of dark and unexpected humor into the plot, in addition to showing his vulnerability like the others, but in his own way. And the dynamic between the seven adults works excellently, just as it did with the seven children.
Ambas tramas son diferentes, pero mantienen la esencia del estilo de Stephen King. Si me ponen a elegir entre las dos, por el estilo del terror elegiría la primera, pero no puedo dejar de pensar en las actuaciones increíbles por el gran elenco elegido para hacer la segunda parte. McAvoy lo hizo genial, Jessica Chastain también y Bill Hader lo hizo magistral porque él le inyecta un toque de humor negro e inesperado a la trama, además de mostrar su vulnerabilidad como los demás, pero a su manera. Y la dinámica entre los siete adultos funciona excelente al igual que lo hicieron los siete niños.

Yo disfruté al ver esta película con James McAvoy y también noté esa transición cuando estuvieron viviendo por separado y cuando se volvieron a reunir. Se nota que en la unión está la fuerza en ambas películas. ¡Excelente post!

Me encantaron las dos partes, es cierto que la primera se llevo mas el terror y suspenso al atacar de forma psicologica a unos niños, pero me encanto el cierre que le dieron ya siendo adultos, esto tambien demuestra que hay muchos traumas infantiles que son arrastrados a lo largo de toda la vida y solo enfrentandolos se pueden superar, como paso con uno de ellos que ahora no recuerdo quien fue, no quiso enfrentarlos y ya sabemos como termino 👀 aunque hubo otro que tampoco gano, dio batalla hasta el final y asi pudieron liberarse 🙏
