Just for me to keep myself relax after work, I was doing nothing and I just feel like watching a movie, I picked my phone and I browse the internet then I saw beekeeper and I downloaded it to watch.
The Beekeeper, I felt like sharing my own little take on it here in CineTV community. Honestly when I first heard about the movie, the title confuse me a bit. I was thinking it is about bees, honey, and maybe some nature of a story. But after watching, I realize it is not really about bees at all, I was amazed by my experience about this movie, even though the name sound like it. It is an action packed film with Jason Statham doing what he knows best fight, kick and break things in a way that make you just keep looking wow.
The story is not too complicated. A man who live a simple quiet life as a beekeeper is force back into violence when somebody close to him suffer because of greedy people. That simple story turn into a chain of revenge and action. For me, the good part of the movie is how direct it is, so straight forward person No need to overthink, you just sit, relax, and enjoy Jason Statham deal with bad guys.
I like how they connect the bee way of life was connected to his role character in the movie, it showing discipline, patience, and also sting them when necessarily important.
But to be honest, I also feel the movie is very predictable. Most of the fights you already know how it will end. I mean how it was been dialogue is not very deep, and sometimes it feel a bit like every other action movie we already saw before. Some part also felt rush, like they just want to move fast to the next explosion or fight.
But I still, I enjoy the experience. If you are looking for something serious I will say top notch or Oscar level script, maybe you will not be satisfied. But if you just want one evening with popcorn, where you cool stress your head and just want to see Jason Statham handle criminals in his cool style, then The Beekeeper is a good pick. For me it was a fun ride, simple and straight.
