Slush hour-2: 4.17 AM

in Wheels of Life7 months ago

This is another unique momentum for daily slush hour, hour of the day or night actually to be precise, because of the time zone difference with our clients (their day and our night here).
So perhaps, because it is night-time work, regardless of the work and every related work things are the same as day-time, the atmosphere is quite distinct than it is during day-shift, particularly around this hour.

I have recently moved to our new branch. Previously, almost all of my peers (from office) were transferred gradually to the new branch, though nobody desired that to happen. However little reproach they expressed, eventually they had to say goodbyes to the ever cherished building.
Yes, indeed you heard it just right, aside from the peers, the building is what they were going to miss after leaving. And it would not be an absurd exaggeration if I am to claim that as much as we wanted the job, we equally liked the idea of being part of that beautiful, unique office building, the 17/C.

Anyhow, though I was still there and was not transferred, I was somewhat relieved regardless of missing the very absence of my dearest peers. Relieved, partly because of the building, partly because I find it inconvenient and a slight hindrance towards the longer career planning to be away from the HQ. Also, as a professional, you may say
However, later on, due to some unforeseen circumstantial criss, I myself had requested my transfer, not to mention was happily approved and was moved to the new branch.

As reproachful I was about coming here since the very beginning, certainly it was unmalleable to just pleasantly accept the new place while my heart was close to it rather tightly. Nevertheless, reunion with my peers, who were actually wholeheartedly planning and praying for a magical interference, was at least an event that formed a little home for me.

Surprising as it is, now it has become a rather interesting surface for us, for me. Perhaps, due to being away from the HQ, there are very few authorized bodies residing here to watch over us, so we took the pleasure to enjoy this liberty. Not that we went rogue, it is just we became comfortable here, like being at home, so oftentimes we gather around to talk, to laugh, and even to sing. Some fellas even bought instruments from home and the rest find our time from our busiest schedule to match with each other to have it matched with each other.

It was amazing how we would sink with each other regardless of our very different work schedules and being on different floors.
So refreshing in contrast to our comparatively stressful works, that most of the time we stay extra hours to spend time with the flow, chatting, laughing.

Indeed there are some ungrateful idiots who ought to misuse any privileges provided, eventually dragging out some restrictions from the higher management, inconveniencing everyone. So due to some drastic actions of those inconsiderate loons who have almost zero regard for the professional environment, we are being transferred back to another place.

Well, I believe what happens, happens for a reason, and for good reason I hope. Now that the transition has started, who knows how that new office would turn out for us, perhaps we will be scattered unlike now.
Seeing the familiar faces greeting each other after arriving, poking one another often, snatching coffee, bothering to go downstairs to have a smoke together because smoking does not taste good while alone, and all these sweet little daily practices, which have become habits.
