A lot of us like to play sport. There are many types of sport like rugby, cricket and netball. What is your favourite type of sport?

Ann likes to play netball and Ben loves playing rugby. Jabu like to run and Sophy does not take part in any type of sport, but she likes to play in her tree house and in the park.

Not all of us are good in sport, but we can all move a bit during the day. We can walk or hop or skip or jump. You do not have to wait until you are good before you do something. The more you practice the better you will get.

Answer the following questions

  1. Who likes rugby?
  2. Who plays netball?
  3. What sport does Jabu do?
  4. What does Sophy enjoy doing?
  5. Why do you think is is good to do any type of sport or just move around?

Read the following sentences and then try and rewrite it without looking

I like to run. He is good at playing soccer. We need to exercise every day.

Fit the words with the same sounds together like tree and bee

jump must tree bump ring most try swing camp post trust sing

Can you spell all of these words?

Choose any 5 and make a sentence using them.

What does it mean if we have a negative sentence? We are turning a sentence into the negative form by adding NOT. I like to run. I do not like to run. Now try doing it with the following sentences

  1. He is a very good runner.
  2. She swims fast.
  3. They play a lot of different sports.
  4. Peter plays rugby.
  5. Ann does a lot of exercises.

Draw a picture of you doing your favourite sport or activity.
