Buenos días a todos los miembros de esta comunidad. Este post va dedicado a todos los padres de niños en etapa escolar. En algunos lugares como Venezuela, ya se acerca el nuevo periodo de clases y a los padres no sólo se les agotan las ideas para mantenerlos ocupados en casa estos últimos días vacacionales sino que muchos sienten preocupación por cómo reforzar las debilidades escolares que debieron crecer durante los meses de inactividad escolar. Es por eso que hoy les traigo un conjunto de ideas que pueden aplicar en estas últimas semanas de vacaciones que aparte de mantenerlos distraídos, van a resultar beneficiosas para que comiencen a calentar esos motores dormidos.

JUEGOS DIDÁCTICOS DE MESA
Esta actividad no sólo los aparta de los dispositivos digitales sino que refuerza su agilidad mental, el cálculo, la memoria, y mucho mejor aún, se rescatan las viejas tradiciones de compartir los juegos de mesa lo cual unifica más a la familia en actividades recreativas.
DIDACTIC TABLE GAMES

CONSTRUCCIÓN DE JUEGOS DIDÁCTICOS
Junto con sus padres, los niños pueden construir sus propios juegos de aprendizaje y de esta manera no sólo estarían reforzando conocimientos de gramática y cultura general, sino que estarían estimulando el arte y las manualidades, mucho mejor aún si se realizan con material de desecho ya que estarían también fomentando el valor del reciclaje y la reutilización.

JUEGOS TRADICIONALES DE PALABRAS
En mi época de infancia recuerdo que junto con mis primos y mi tía jugábamos El ahorcado y Stop. Dos juegos grupales donde debíamos adivinar y escribir palabras.
TRADITIONAL PLAYS OF WORD
In my childhood I remember that together with my cousins and my aunt we played Hangman and Stop. Two group games where we had to guess and write words.
El ahorcado consistía en colocar en la pizarra unas rayitas en el lugar de las letras que conformaban una palabra secreta, esta palabra siempre era un poco difícil por lo que en cada ronda nos iban dando una pista nueva. Quienes fallaran en cada ronda le iban agregando una parte de su cuerpo dibujado en un muñequito de palos, y cuando ya no tuviera más partes que colocar, lo ahorcaban y perdía.
The hangman consisted of placing some lines on the board in the place of the letters that made up a secret word, this word was always a bit difficult, so in each round they gave us a new clue. Those who failed in each round added a part of their body drawn on a stick doll, and when they had no more parts to place, they hanged them and lost.

Stop era un juego que consistía en colocar en una hoja 6 tipos de palabras en columna. Cada jugador daba una letra y todos debían escribir rápidamente las 6 palabras iniciando con la letra asignada. El que finalizara antes decía “Stop”, y los demás debían detenerse.
Stop was a game that consisted of placing 6 types of words in a column on a sheet of paper. Each player gave a letter and everyone had to quickly write the 6 words starting with the assigned letter. Whoever finished first said “Stop”, and the others had to stop.
Las palabras comunes eran: Nombre, apellido, ciudad, animal, fruto, y cosa (objeto). Algunas veces le agregaban una séptima y octava palabras que eran la flor y el color, y esto ponía el juego más difícil porque no se conocían muchos por algunas letras.
The common words were: Name, surname, city, animal, fruit, and thing (object). Sometimes they added a seventh and eighth words that were the flower and the color, and this made the game more difficult because not many knew each other by some letters.
JUEGOS ACTUALES DE PALABRAS
En común ver en programas de TV, algunos juegos muy divertidos de palabras como la Ruleta de la suerte que se parece al juego del ahorcado y Pasapalabras que es más complicado pero muy interesante ya que permite que los teleaudientes puedan enriquecer su vocabulario al mismo tiempo que se divierten tratando de jugarlo desde la casa.
CURRENT WORD PLAYS
It is common to see some very fun word games on TV programs, such as Roulette of Fortune, which is similar to the hangman game, and Pasapalabras, which is more complicated but very interesting since it allows viewers to enrich their vocabulary at the same time as they have fun trying to play it from home.
La idea es implementar estos dos estilos de juego en el hogar para disfrutarlos en familia y de esa manera los niños estarían reforzando sus conocimientos de cultura general al mismo tiempo que estarían divirtiéndose. Se recomienda el uso de un diccionario para poder encontrar más material que integrar al juego.
The idea is to implement these two styles of games at home to enjoy them as a family and in this way the children would be reinforcing their knowledge of general culture while having fun. The use of a dictionary is recommended to be able to find more material to integrate into the game.
Recuerden siempre aclararles a los niños el significado de las palabras que no logren adivinar.

STOP GRAMATICAL
En mi época de docente independiente, hacíamos planes vacacionales y jamás faltaba alguna actividad o juego que pudiera ser transformada en mecanismo de refuerzo en las áreas donde los alumnos presentaban más debilidades. Por lo general, esta área era la gramática y todo lo que implicaba los tipos de palabras.
GRAMMAR STOP
In my time as an independent teacher, we made vacation plans and there was never a lack of an activity or game that could be transformed into a reinforcement mechanism in the areas where the students had the most weaknesses. Usually this area was grammar and anything that involved word types.
Por eso creamos el Stop Gramatical que consistía en usar el tradicional juego de “Stop”, pero en vez de las palabras comunes que se utilizan en él, las cambiamos por los tipos de palabras. Para hacer esto hay que darles a los niños un breve repaso del tema con el fin de refrescar sus memorias, y así el juego comienza de esta manera:
That is why we created the Grammatical Stop which consisted of using the traditional “Stop” game, but instead of the common words used in it, we changed them to the types of words. A medida que van jugando, sin darse cuenta están reforzando un contenido que forma parte de todas las etapas escolares y al mismo tiempo se están divirtiendo con el juego ya que hacerlo en forma grupal resulta más ameno.
As they play, without realizing it, they are reinforcing content that is part of all school stages and at the same time they are having fun with the game since doing it in a group is more enjoyable.
