Reading worksheet for Gr 4 - Making new friends

in Educationlast year

Mandy was dreading the first day at her new school.

She knew all too well the feeling of being the new kid, and it was not something she was looking forward to. She had moved to a new city and started attending a different school, and it was more than a bit intimidating.

As she walked through the hallways of the new school, she felt like everyone was staring at her. Everywhere she went, she felt like she was being judged and evaluated.

She was desperate for someone to talk to and be friends with, but it was impossible to make any connections with anyone.

Then, one day, she met John. He was kind and welcoming, and he seemed to understand her loneliness. He invited her to eat lunch with him and his friends, and she accepted.

The group was friendly and talkative, and Mandy felt like she could fit in with them. Mandy and John quickly became close friends, and she felt like she finally belonged.

He helped her to make more friends and she was soon accepted into the group. Whenever she felt overwhelmed or out of place,

John was always there for her, and she was grateful for his support. Mandy had gone from feeling completely alone and isolated to having a group of good friends.

She was so thankful for John and their friendship, and she was so glad she had gone to the new school.

Now read the story again and compile at least 10 of your own questions and answer it.

Re-tell the story in your own words.
