Google Sheets - How to Use COMPLEX Function in Google Sheets

in Education2 years ago

In this post, we take a look at How to Use COMPLEX Function in Google Sheets. Previously we managed to cover the DELTA Function in Google Sheets. And now we are going to be taking over with the complex function and few other functions in next few tutorials. So you have some new tutorials to work with and also manage for the content there. It's a good journey so far with the google sheets for you to try out.

In this tutorial we are going to see complex number from the given real and imaginary parts. So we make the real number column and also another column we are going to be making use of the imaginary part. So you have something to work with two components that you can attach and make one number which we call the complex. So you can get the complex function as a option here for you.

You can now take a look at the visual instruction of this tutorial through the video. Let's take a look at one of the tutorial where you can learn how to use COMPLEX Function in Google Sheets.

First thing we are going to be doing is make a spreadsheet and have one column with name real part and another column with imaginary part. And the third column you can make for the formula.

And here in formula you may find the suffix that you can use and make your formula that would work out with the formula which you wish to use for the creation of the data in the result column there.

Here's the formula for you to try out with the below options.

=COMPLEX(real_part, imaginary_part, [suffix])

real part is basically your real number and the imaginary number and then comes the suffix that you can add with the number for yourself.

Here we have one number which is decimal and another as the floating point number for you to work with.

=COMPLEX(2, 3.5)

and another number for you is 0 as the real number and the another number we can add as imaginary to work with.

=COMPLEX(0, 4, "j")

And then let's take one more example for our work. So let's try the negative numbers too, which may work out for our usages that would be something to consider.

=COMPLEX(3, -1)

So overall you have few examples to try out and exercise here.

That's it. There are plenty of examples that you can try and work with. Most of the office and the student assignements where they are working with real and imaginary numbers would be making use of the complex function. And it gets easier as you use the function and the formula to make things easier and it does get the work done as well. Apart from this you can also check out imreal function and imimaginary function to use with the content there.

I have made plenty of other examples with the google sheets functions. And if you are into the google sheets, excel etc then you can make use of the content to solve some of your office and the student assignment options there. Like, share and subscribe to my channel so that you can get regular notifications of the new content that comes to the channel. So stay updated with any new such content.

I'll add more spreadsheet tutorial by the next week. :)
