Learning from home! Kinetic energy! Practice #05!

Hello friends of my beloved community @hive, in these difficult times that we all have had to go through during this quarantine, I decided to retake this world of platforms and cryptocurrencies, I realized at this moment at home that all parents should take advantage of the extra time that we went through with our children, so I decided to implement a series of strategies that help me educate my children from home and I want to share with you this experience so that you can implement it and put it into practice with your children, but the most important thing of all is have fun and learn at the same time.

Today we will continue learning about Kinetic Energy!

Concept:

Kinetic energy is energy that allows an object to move, that is, the capacity or work that causes an object to go from being at rest to moving at a certain speed.Source

We have to take into account the importance of letting the little ones know the theoretical part of what is being studied so that when we go to practice they will understand more easily.

Ok now if we go with this fun practice!!

Today will be more fun than usual because we will make a toy, it is a Homemade Celtic Top, which will turn in two directions so they will love it and they will have fun playing with it while they learn from home.

Let's see what we need?

  • A metal spoon
  • A plastic spoon
  • 2 Clips

What do we have to do?

Metal spinning top:

  • The first thing we do is to bend the elongated part of our spoon perpendicular to itself.

  • Then we fold it a little to one side, as seen in the photograph.

  • Ready is all we have to do to create our Home Celtic Top, we just need to spin it, give it an initial boost and see how it turns in one direction and after several turns it begins to pitch up and down and then it begins to spin in the opposite direction.

Plastic spinning top

  • The first thing we do is cut the long part of our plastic spoon and then place the two clips so that the spoon is somewhat unstable in terms of the distribution of the dough.

  • Then with an initial impulse we turn our homemade peoza.

  • We notice that the same thing happens as with the metal one, the spinning top turns in one direction, then it begins to stop to pitch and then it begins to turn in the opposite direction than the one it started with.

What happened?

A Celtic spinning top is an implement that rotates in a very particular way since it begins to rotate on the vertical axis that passes through the center with an initial impulse, then stops and begins to rotate in the opposite direction.

In the Home spinning tops that we create, both have an Ellipsoidal shape and the mass is not distributed evenly, so when we give them the initial impulse both begin to rotate along its vertical axis and after a few turns the pitch starts below and produces a transfer of energy which causes them to stop and then begin to rotate in the opposite direction.

The education of our children is the basis of who they will become in the future and this is why we as parents have the responsibility to provide them with the best possible education and we must bear in mind that education begins at home, so that we take advantage of this extra time that we spend with them in this quarantine and try to teach them from home and in a simple way basic concepts of physics, chemistry or any branch where you develop.
I invite you to follow me, if you like my publication so that between us we can make our children Learn from home.

Greetings and I wait for you in my next publication.
