Hello friends of my beloved community @hive, in these difficult times that we all have had to go through during this quarantine, I decided to retake this world of platforms and cryptocurrencies, I realized at this moment at home that all parents should take advantage of the extra time that we went through with our children, so I decided to implement a series of strategies that help me educate my children from home and I want to share with you this experience so that you can implement it and put it into practice with your children, but the most important thing of all is have fun and learn at the same time.

Today we will continue learning about Surface tension of the water!

Concept:

Any liquid has a kind of stressed membrane on its surface, this is called the surface tension of water. Source

We have to take into account the importance of letting the little ones know the theoretical part of what is being studied so that when we go to practice they will understand more easily.

Today the children will have a lot of fun as we will work with a ball that at first will be very brave but then not so much, so let's practice!

##Let's see what we need?

  • A deep container.
  • A ping pong ball or a very light one
  • Water

What do we have to do?

Brave Ball:

  • What we have to do is put water in the cup but not up to the top and then place the ball on top, we will notice how it approaches the edge of the cup and sticks to it.

Not so brave ball:

  • Then we finish filling the cup with water to the top just before it begins to spill and we place the ball on top, we will notice that the ball is no longer so brave and it approaches the edge of the cup but immediately goes back to the center for fear of falling , is no longer so brave.

What happened?

Brave Ball:

In this first case, when placing the water in the cup, it rises up the walls of the same and forms a curved surface and the same happens with the ball, the water that surrounds it rises over the surface of the ball and forms a curved surface, when the ball approaches the edge of the cup these two surfaces come together and increase the surface tension of the water, which causes the ball to stick to the edge of the cup.

Not So Brave Ball:

In this case with the cup filled to the top, the water forms a downward surface at the edges of the cup.

The surface tension acts on all sides but to a lesser extent on the edge due to the curved surface, this is why when placing the ball it is approaching the edge, the surface tension takes it back to the center of the cup.

The education of our children is the basis of who they will become in the future and this is why we as parents have the responsibility to provide them with the best possible education and we must bear in mind that education begins at home, so that we take advantage of this extra time that we spend with them in this quarantine and try to teach them from home and in a simple way basic concepts of physics, chemistry or any branch where you develop.
I invite you to follow me, if you like my publication so that between us we can make our children Learn from home.

Greetings and I wait for you in my next publication.
