Hello friends of my beloved @hive community, I am a Maintenance Engineer and in these difficult times that we have all had to go through during this quarantine I have decided to retake this world of platforms and cryptocurrencies realizing in what aspects I am stronger and in which I am weaker, in order to reinforce those that are needed, but I also realized at this time at home that all parents should take advantage of the extra time we spend with our children so I have decided to implement a series of strategies that will help me educate my children from home and I want to share with you this experience so that you can implement it and put it into practice with your children since they love them but the most important thing of all is that they They have fun and learn at the same time.

Today we will learn from home what the Surface Tension of Water is!

Concept:

The surface of any liquid behaves as if a tension membrane exists above it. This phenomenon is known as surface tension. The surface tension of a liquid is associated with the amount of energy required to increase its surface per unit area.Source

It is very important that before we get to practice we let our children know the conceptualization of what we are going to learn so that once we get to it they can fully understand the object of study.

Now if we are going to learn from home with this fun practice !!

What do we need?

  • A container can be a glass or a cup.
  • Water
  • Talcum powder
  • Toilet soap.

What do we have to do?

The first thing we do is put a little water in the container and then place a layer of talc on top that covers the entire surface.

  • Then we put a finger inside the container piercing the talc layer and remove it, noting that the hole we made is closed again with the talc, leaving the surface covered by it again.

  • Then we proceed to do the same procedure, but before inserting the finger into the container we soaping ourselves, we will notice that the hole made in the talc does not cover again, this because the surface tension breaks.

What happened?

On the surface of the water the molecules remain united, the force that makes these molecules remain united is called Superficial Tension, when introducing the soapy finger the molecules of the soap break this tension and do not allow the molecules to regroup so the film Talcum certainly also breaks and cannot be re-formed or closed.

The education of our children is the basis of who they will become in the future and this is why we as parents have the responsibility to provide them with the best possible education and we must bear in mind that education begins at home, so that we take advantage of this extra time that we spend with them in this quarantine and try to teach them from home and in a simple way basic concepts of physics, chemistry or any branch where you develop.

I invite you to follow me, if you like my publication so that between us we can make our children Learn from hom.

Greetings and I wait for you in my next publication.
