I had recently watched an old movie during my lunch break.
The movie was called ‘The Kid With The 200 IQ’.
Video Source
In the movie, Nick Newell was a kid with 200 IQ and he was able to be admitted into an university.
He was enthusiastic at first but not all the students were able to accept him especially he was just a kid.
He tried to impress his favourite professor but failed to do so and he became frustrated and left the university secretly.
His friends and professor tried to get him back and I found out that the professor had high IQ when he was young so he did not want Nick Newell to go through his same experience by being tough with him.
The professor realised that he could only allow Nick Newell to experience and learn on his own in how to deal with his high IQ and social skills.
Very often, many teachers may think that they have taught a really good lesson. When they asked their students, the feedback may not be what they have expected.
We should never assume our methods that we have been using for years would still be effective after all the years since society is changing so our students are very different these days.
We need to teach according to how our students can learn best and how they want to be taught.
