Welcome to Feature Friday, where we explore built-in features that make you safer. Let's talk about Lockdonw Mode. This is yours phone's emergency security switch.
For Android (Lockdown Mode):
- It disable fingerprint and smart lock
- Requires your PIN, pattern, or password
- Hide sensitive notifications on lock screen
- Turn off "Hey Google" voice commands
For iOS (Lockdown):
- Temporarily disable Face ID and Touch ID
- Requires passcode to unlock
- Hides notification content
i) Prevents Coercion: If someone tries to force to unlock your phone with biometrics, you can activate it.
ii) Extra Privacy: Hides sensitive notification when you are in public access
iii) Peace of Mind: Perfect for situations where you want maximum security temporarily
On Android:
- Go to Settings > Security > Device lock
- Enable "Show lockdown option"
- To activate: Press and hold power button, then tap "Lockdown"
ON iPhone:
- Go to Settings > Face ID/ Touch ID & Passcode
- Enable "Lockdown Mode"
- To activate: Press and hold side + volume up buttons, then tap "Lockdown"
