We have all done it. That satisfying for us to swipe to close all our background apps, believing we're giving our phone a fresh start—saving precious battery life and boosting speed. It feels like digital housekeeping, but what if this common habit is actually working against you?
Welcome to Mythbuster Monday, where we explores tech myths with facts, maybe you do not know. Let's dive into what really happens when you force close your app.
The Myth:
"Manually closing all your apps saves battery and makes your phone run faster".
The Truth:
Majority of time, force closing apps does the opposite. It can drain more battery and slow down your mobile.
WHY:
Modern smartphones are design to manage background apps intelligently for you. When an app is in the background but not actively used, it's put into a "suspend" state to use less memory. It is not using your CPU, and therefore use negligible battery.
When you force-close an app and then re-open it, your phone has load the entire app from scratch into memory, so it will acquire more battery. This "cold start" process is one of the most battery-intensive tasks your phone performs. Keeping an app suspend in the background uses far less energy than constantly restarting it.
That feeling of a fresh start is just that a feeling for you. Your phone operating system is already excellent at managing its own memory. When it needs more resources for a new task, it automatically closes older, suspended apps you haven't use. By constantly closing apps yourself, you're interfering with this efficient system and making yourself wait longer every time you need to reopen an app.

Stay Smart, Stay Safe
I think the closing apps works for low-budget phones.
For high-end phones, I leave my apps opened.
Me never bothered on closing my apps whether I experience log or not😂
