Welcome to the Tactics Tuesday, where we explore actionable strategies for a safer digital life to protect our digital accounts. This week's tactic is "The 2-minutes security scan."
This is not about a tool, it is about a daily scan that can become your habit with time and ca reduce your risk.

Your 2-Minutes Daily Exercise:

  • Password Vault Check: It will take 30 seconds to see you password manager to look any alert
  • Email Filter: 30 seconds for email to look in you Sent folder, if you see any mail you have not sent. This is the sign of compromise.
  • App permissions: When you install a new app from app store, conciously look app permissions. Is it really need to allow to access all your contacts or gallery to specific app.
  • Link Hover: Get in to the habit to hover over link to see if the link is legitimate or some jumbled mess. It is sign of malicious link.

Why this tactic is so powerful:

  • Consistency: Doing a little exercise daily is more effective than a massive overhaul once in a month or a year.
  • Builds a Security Mindset: This is not about a daily scan, it is about training your brain to be more aware.
  • Proactive not reactive: Instead of responding to a big hack to your digital asset, spot small anomalies before they become big problems.
    Level up your tactic:
Once the 2-minute scan is a habit, add a weekly 5 minutes scan to check things like connected devices on your social media or recent logins to your email.

A) Daily
B) Only when something feels wrong
C) Rarely I know I should do it more.
