Welcome to What-If Wednesday, where we prepare you for digital emergencies. So that so do not feel helpless. Here is step by step guide what to do that:

If your Facebook account is hacked, the first step is to determine if you can access it. If you can not log in to your facebook account, go to you Facebook recovery page and report you account is hacked. But if you can access you account, immediately go to Settings & Privacy and remove any unauthorized devices and secure you account. Change your password to prevent hacker from further access.

If the hacker has changed you password and email, you can still attempt to recover your Facebook account through Facebook's login identification tools. If you receive a security alert from Facebook, respond it quickly as delays can allow hacker to make more changes. If though all of steps, you can not access or recover you account, report it to Facebook.

For accounts where the hacker has changed the login information, still you can access using one effective method involves having a trusted friend or family member assist with the recovery steps from a different location and devices using the email not linked to any Facebook account. This can help break the verification loop and allow you to regain access.

Once you regain access, it is crucial to secure you account to enable 2-Factor authentication using an authentication app like Google Authenticator. Review and update your privacy settings. Inform your friends and family that your account has been compromises.

If you are unable to recover your account through official channels, consider seeking help from professional recovery services. Some users can recovered their accounts by contacting Meta support.

But if he gets to know quickly maybe it can be retrieved, backup is always important.

You are right dear.
