Choosing our own goals

We often live limited lives, as if we had the handbrake on. We have learned to depend on external approval, waiting for others to validate our decisions before daring to pursue what truly excites us.

Meanwhile, life goes on, without stopping. But what if we started listening more to our own voice than to the noise around us? What if happiness didn't need reasons or justifications?

We were taught to pursue other people's goals and embrace ideals that don't belong to us. In that endless quest to ‘do the right thing’ and maintain an acceptable façade in front of others, we lose sight of what really matters: those pure moments when we feel fully ourselves.

Choosing what brings us joy, even if it seems inexplicable to others, is a courageous act. It involves challenging ourselves to break with imposed expectations, question social norms, and even renounce what is considered ‘sensible.’

It is a way of reminding ourselves that life is ours, a unique journey in which the most valuable approval is our own. Perhaps change does not require a major immediate transformation, but rather a simple gesture of resistance.

Ask yourself: what small thing brings you happiness that you have set aside or chosen to hide? Today is the ideal day to make it a reality.
