We often think of culture as something vast and distant, expressed in great literary works, symphonies, art, heritage, or museum collections.
However, its true essence lies in our daily interactions, intertwining with every aspect of our everyday lives.
It manifests itself in the rhythm of our conversations, the way we treat those around us, our openness to diversity, our conscious use of digital platforms, the humor we choose to spread, and the silences we prefer to keep.
Constantly, and often without realizing it, we act as carriers and creators of culture.
Culture is not only what we adopt, but mainly what we transmit. For example, when we share a post on social media that belittles someone for being different, we are shaping culture.
Similarly, every time we remain silent in the face of injustice, we are contributing to it.
On the other hand, when we show respect for a historically excluded person, we are consciously building culture.
In a social context marked by polarization, intolerance, and the speed with which everything happens, it is necessary to stop and reflect on the impact of our daily choices. What kind of culture are we creating day by day?
