SCHOOL HEALTH is observing the basic rules of hygiene in our school environment so that we can be healthy and strong to learn.
Without a healthy school environment, learning won’t be effective and the intended learning outcome won’t be achieved and as such the effort of the teacher will be forfeited. School environment should be kept in a good condition to enhance effective learning by the pupils and students including the teachers. It is pertinent to maintain a healthy school environment to avoid children been distracted as a result of the odour emanating from the waste like that from the toilet ( urine and feaces ).
HOW TO CARE FOR THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT
We can care for the school environment when we are involved in activities that will make the environment clean, safe and comfortable for learning. For us to maintain a healthy school environment we have to look at ways of maintaining our health in the school environment
1. We wash the school toilet regularly
2. Cut the grasses in and around the school premises

3. Sweeping and keeping up any piece of paper and other harmful objects
4. Mopping up water from the floor to avoid pupils slipping
5. Arranging the seats and desks properly after each day work
6. Providing first aid boxes and equipping the school’s sick bays with medicines and other necessary medical facilities
7. Providing waste paper baskets and dustbins in the classrooms and within the school premises
8. Avoiding rough play and the use of sharp objects while playing in the school compound
NOTE: When the school is kept in a good and healthy condition; it makes the school free from germs and clean. It frees pupils from infectious diseases. And also pupils are free from physical injuries.
