A web browser is a software program that enables us to access and view web pages. web browser software is built on the concept of hyperlinks, which allows users to point and click with a mouse in order to jump from one dicument to another in whatever order they desire.
Web browsers are capable of downloading and transferring files, providing access to newsgroups, displaying graphics contained in documents and playing audio and video files associated with such documents.
Browsers have a bookmark feature that makes storing references to favourite sites possible. Instead of typing in the URL again to visit the same site next time, just select one of the bookmarks.

Microsoft internet Explorer: This is currently one of the most popular web browser. The Microsoft Internet Explorer comes with Windows 98/2000/ME/XP/Vista/7 operating system.
Netscape Navigator: This is a Web browser that is available for computers running many different operating systems, including windows, Macintosh, OS/2 and Unix. The Netscape Navigator can be got free of charge at www.netscape.com website.
Mozilla Firefox: Mozilla Firefox is a graphical web browser developed by the mozilla corporation and a large community of external contributors. It can be got free of charge at www.mozilla.cim website.
Starting Internet Explorer
We can start the Internet Explorer to browse the information on the web.
1. First, click on the Internet Explorer icon on the Window taskbar.
2. If you are not currently connected to the internet, a dialogue box will appear that allows you to get connected .
3. When you finish browsing through the information on the web, click on the close (×) to close the internet Explorer window.
Title bar: This part of the internet explorer displays the title of the displayed web page.
Status bar: This area displays the current status of the internet explorer. Analytically, it displays opening page when you are downloading a web page , and Done when that page is fully loaded. When you point at a link, the status bar displays the address of the page associated with the link.
