I was contemplating a similar situation this week.
My son had homework and he refused to do it. Why? His rationale is there should not be homework on the weekend.
Also, I notice that when he likes a subject he invests his time into it.
If he doesn't, then he does the bare minimum.
I must agree with him for the same reason you point out- is it worth the stress? Will it really matter in 20 years?
I want him to embrace what he enjoys in his Life. He is respectful, kind & polite - but homework and useless knowledge are clothes he does not wish to wear 🤣
