Homeroom PTA and Card Day: Recognizing Excellence in My Advisory Section

in Education5 months ago
Card day is a special occasion that marks the end of every quarter here in the Philippines. It is the way also to conduct a Parent-Teacher Conference regarding students' progress, behavior, and attendance in the whole quarter. Last November 10, 2023, was my set schedule in my section to conduct a PTA program inside my classroom. In my advisory section, it was a day filled with pride and joy as we distributed also a certificate of recognition to honor the exceptional performance of my 16 students who achieved honors during the first quarter of the school year 2023-2024.

This blog post will take you through the memorable moments of card day and highlight the accomplishments of these outstanding individuals.

Setting the Room

Before the parents arrived, I cleaned the room and prepared a PowerPoint presentation for the flow of the program. I set the agenda of the Homeroom PTA, and also the distribution of report cards and certificates as an appreciation of students' hard work and dedication.

Acknowledging Academic Excellence

During the program, each student who achieved honors was called together with their parents to receive the certificate of recognition and also the report card for the first quarter.

The room was filled with applause and cheers as their names were announced, reflecting the pride and admiration we felt for their accomplishment. It was a moment of celebration and validation of their commitment to academic excellence.

Expressing Gratitude

This activity is also an opportunity to express gratitude for the parent's efforts and guidance for their students all the way. It is a way of acknowledging the parent's unwavering support and nurturing of the young minds. As a stakeholder in the educational sector, parents are the primary teacher of the students.
This program is a collective celebration of success that brought us closer together and reinforced the idea that we are a team, supporting and uplifting one another.

A Collection of Memories

After the program, students were free to take photos all the way. They are very proud of their achievements. Parents also said goodbye since others might be back at work, they were just excused from their respective work just to attend this special occasion.

Looking Ahead
As we celebrated the achievements of the past quarter, we also encouraged our students to look ahead and strive harder for the next quarter. We emphasized the continuous growth and improvement for the next quarter to come.

Homeroom PTA and Card Day was a momentous program in our advisory section, where we celebrated the accomplishments of students, discussing the improvements and the development of each learner. It was a day filled with joy, pride, and a sense of community. The distribution of certificates served as a testament to students' dedication, hard work, and academic excellence. We are confident that these individuals will continue to shine, and make a positive impact in their future endeavors.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to read. I as an educator once said " The most satisfying of being an educator is not the compensation, but it is witnessing the success of others' lives which you had been once a part of."

Have a great day everyone.

From their picture above I can feel their emotion and heart that is filled with joy. Sarap talaga makakuha ng mga medals at certificates at tumaas sa stage lalo na kung pinaghirapan yung award..congrats kiddos🎉

A big applause to you also sir for the hardwork.

Thank you maam.

It was a memorable day for all the students who received recognition as a result of their struggles in facing the challenges. Parents should be proud of the achievements of their children as the world is getting more and more difficult to deal with.

Yes sir, that's true.
