In africa especially Nigeria, most mothers or rather, families have become doctors of their own. Why am saying these??? am saying these because we offen misuse drugs because we don't know the actual organism that is responsible or example giving an antibiotics to a measles or a covid 19 Patient, the drugs and the illness are incompatible.....
Hello guys welcome to these amazing community where we exchange the pride of what we already know with more knowledge.my name is pemruach,am about to give us explicit clarification concerning two giant micro organisms,i will be sharing their differences in so many areas,e.g reproduction, nature and many others including key points.so stay with me as we ride on..........
Micro organisms are all around us, and among them, the most well known organisms are virus and bacteria,so let quickly talk about their basic nature and so on.
BASIC NATURE OF BACTERIA AND VIRUS

Bacteria==>are single-celled organisms capable of carrying out all the functions of life, sure as growth, metabolism e.t.c on their own, without depending on any organism or host.

Virus==>is a special category of an organism on it own as it can be both living and non living.hence they cannot perform any life processes by themselves instead they infect a host cell to produce, which is why some scientist describe them as existing at the "edge of life"
SIZE AND COMPLEXITY
Bacteria are significantly larger and more complex than virus.
Bacteria ==>>have a full cellular structure, including a cellwall, cytoplasm and sometimes specialized features like flagella for movement.
Virus==>>are extremely small often up to a hundred times smaller than bacteria. And also consist only of genetic material (DNA or RNA)enclosed in a protein shell.some viruses also have a fatty outer envelope.
REPRODUCTION IN VIRUS AND BACTERIA
The way these microbes reproduce is another major difference.
Bacteria==>>reproduce indepently through a process called binary fission where one bacterial cell divides into two identical cell under the right condition, this can happen rapidly.
Viruses==>>cannot reproduce without a host, the invade living cells, take over the cells machinery, and force it to produce new particles of it kind .after the process many new virus are made.
THE ROLE OF THESE MICROBES IN OUR HEALTH
Bacteria==>>can be both helpful and harmful. Many bacteria live in our bodies and environment, supporting digestion, protecting the skin and helping breakdown of organic matter.while harmful bacteria on the other hand causes diseases like sore throat, tuberculosis, urinary tract infection e.t.c.
Virus==>>Are mostly associated with diseases, causing illnesses such as the common cold, influenza, measles,covid-19 and so on.because the rely on host cell to replicate.they often cause damage and trigger immune responses.
TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF THESE MICROBES
Since viruses and bacteria behave differently, the must be treated differently
Bacteria==>>bacteria infections is often treated with antibiotics, which kill bacteria or stop them from multyplying.
Viral infections==>>cannot be treated with antibiotics, instead antiviral medications, rest, supportive care, abstaining from premarital sex and also vaccines also play a key role in preventing viral diseases by preparing the immune system in advance.
KEYPIONTS TO NOTE ABOUT THESE MICROBES
1)virus are only living inside a living gist and they are in crystal form outside the living gist.
2)virus live inside a living host as a parasite
3)virus are more of a non living than a living.
4)virus where first discovered by ivanosky.where he first found it in tobacco mosiac.
5)virus are obligate intracellular parasite.and they cannot be affected by antibiotics or anti bacterial.
6)A varion is a complete, mature and infectious form of a virus.
7)A virus is made up of a protein coat and a nuclei acid which must be either DNA or RNA.
8)bacteria are found in the harshest environment.
9)bacteria belong to kingdom Monera
10)bacteria are prokaryotic.
So with these we should be able to distinguish between viruses and bacteria
