IF YOU ARE A TEACHER YOU MUST KNOW AND IDENTIFY YOURSELF WITH THE TYPES OF LEARNING

Learning
according to Piaget, learning is a process by which the subject, through experience, manipulation of objects, interaction with people, generates or constructs knowledge, actively modifying their cognitive schemes of the world that surrounds them. , through the process of assimilation and accommodation.

¿Why do teachers have to identify and know the different types of learning?

because every teacher must know that everyone is unique and unrepeatable and that everyone learns in a different way because everyone has a great diversity of ways about perceiving and interpreting reality, acquiring and processing information, thinking about speaking ... that is why that these individual differences applied to the teaching-learning process give rise to the different types of teaching in the teacher and of learning in the students

It is also important to note that each teacher participates in different ways in these styles and it is very important to recognize their own, although it makes more sense for the teacher to identify the different types of learning of their students to favor the process of learning to learn.

In this sense, learning can be built in an interaction context by developing the following: cooperative, explicit, emotional, experiential, associative, memory, receptive, discovery, collaborative, significant, observational, associative and implicit learning.

Cooperative learning

Learning and collaborative work is an approach that tries to organize activities within the classroom to turn them into a social and academic learning experience. In addition, students work in groups to carry out tasks collectively.
(Wikipedia)

The importance of cooperative learning in children is relevant since it is a good way to return to children the values of cooperation and understanding, especially in a world as multicultural and heterogeneous as it is today. Training children in these capacities will lead them to become good citizens and valuable members of the society in which they are integrated.

Emotional learning
It is the process by which people acquire the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to recognize and manage their emotions, show interest and concern for others, form good relationships, make responsible decisions and face the challenges of the life of the most suitable way possible.

Emotions have been found to help foster learning, as they can stimulate the activity of neural networks, strengthening synaptic connections. Therefore, it has been shown that learning is better consolidated in our brain when emotions are involved, hence the importance of teachers working with this type of learning, in addition the development and management of these skills will help the learning is much more appropriate.

In other words, the control of emotion allows it to move towards a much deeper and more meaningful learning. As a result, self-regulation and proper management of emotions and feelings are promoted. Thus becoming a path that allows learning in a deeper way.

In this vein, it is important that teachers prepare to promote social and emotional learning in students, which should be supported by the entire educational and social group.

Understanding how emotions can affect different processes such as memory and attention, helps not only teachers at the time of teaching, but also students to know how they can influence their learning. Finally, the teaching of emotion regulation and self-knowledge is essential to generate confrontational strategies in the face of any problem that arises.

Explicit learning

Explicit learning is characterized because the learner has the intention to learn and is aware of what he learns. For example, this type of learning allows us to acquire information about people, places and objects

Explicit Learning is one that occurs when we use certain tools, such as brainstorming or the life line; when we ask questions and the coachee discovers something new about himself, his resources, his actions or his limiting beliefs; When we do a vision exercise, we define objectives or priorities; when the coachee carries out her action plan and leaves her comfort zone to implement new actions, which lead her to consolidate new habits, and so on.

This occurs as a consequence of a more or less planned action, which is prepared in advance, with some objectives, a structure, a process, etc.

Experiential learning

Experiential learning is the process of learning through experience, and is more specifically defined as “learning through reflection on doing.” Practical learning is a form of experiential learning, but it does not necessarily imply that students reflect about your product. Wikipedia

Experiential education allows a space for personal growth based on self-knowledge, since it is immersed in the processes of awareness from constant reflection. It is a method that allows a permanent interaction between action and reflection, which favors the possibility of generating positive changes from both an individual and a collective point of view.It improves the cognitive structure of the student and helps to modify attitudes, values, perceptions and student behavior patterns.

Associative learning
This is a process by which an individual learns the association between two stimuli or a stimulus and a behavior. One of the great theorists of this type of learning was Ivan Pavlov, who dedicated part of his life to the study of classical conditioning, a type of associative learning.

This type of learning is extremely important in educational action because learning new content and constantly adapting to circumstances is essential in all stages of life. Progress in understanding this process favors the advancement of better educational methods and increases the common welfare.

Regardless of the environment, the method we use or our motives, learning consists of the appearance of relatively stable changes in our behavior or our mind produced through experience.

Associative learning in children has been and continues to be studied in depth since it is possible to find examples of associative learning in practically all areas of our lives. Numerous demonstrations of associative learning processes are presented in interpersonal and work relationships and experiences, related to consumption, addictive substances or belonging to any other context.

Associative learning is important since learning from our experiences based on what we have lived previously is essential for survival. This allows the execution of increasingly adaptive patterns of behavior, and even predicts possible results of our actions: for example, we learn to avoid certain stimuli and actively seek others because we have previously been able to link them with some type of consequence.

Significant learning
This type of learning is very significant and integral in the teaching-learning process and is characterized in that the individual collects the information, selects it, organizes and establishes relationships with the knowledge that he / she already had previously. In other words, it is when a person relates new information to what they already have.

One of the most important learning is the significant one since from this the others get involved because through it we can learn in many ways, but the way that more fully encompasses the emotional, motivational and cognitive dimension is called learning significant.

When this type of learning occurs, the way to associate previous skills and knowledge and so that new information can be integrated into them is carved by the motivational source and the meaning that is attributed to what is learned.
This is important, bearing in mind that the key that makes the difference between the different forms of learning is in the process of building knowledge.

Finally, it is important to say that some people think that there is only one way to learn but there are really different ways of applying learning in students and this becomes effective when we can know and apply them according to their rhythm and need, because knowing the types of learning that surrounds the human being for its proper practice is of utmost importance in educational action. That is why, over the years, the studies of many researchers have made it possible to decipher how our memory works and how observation or experience influences when it comes to building knowledge and changing our way of acting.

We must remember that learning refers to the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values and attitudes, and human beings could not adapt to changes if it were not for this process.
