REFLECTIONS ON EMPATHY

in Education3 years ago (edited)

Happy New Year, dear friends and colleagues from this prestigious and emotional educational platform. A fraternal and affectionate hug. After being away for some time due to some adverse circumstances coupled with health problems, I am here again to share my reflection with all of you. In this case I would like to share a topic related to the dimension of the human being and very important for social relationships, such as "Empathy".

All human beings need to be empathetic and practice this virtue as a lifestyle because it is necessary in all areas of life.

Empathy is the ability you have to know how to capture and understand what another person feels or thinks, and even put yourself in their place.

Why is it important to develop empathy and apply it in our daily lives?
Empathy is essential in the world we inhabit since all people do not think alike and we are constantly receiving bombardments of injustices, tribulations and even problems and adverse situations that we cannot avoid but that we can face in a more reasonable way when we are empathic.

Empathy involves having the ability to understand the emotional nature of other people, even when their points of view are radically opposed to ours.

Human beings need each other and although it often seems complicated, only empathy in some moments of life will make us better people.

We mainly need as people to develop empathy to be able to feel the pain of others or the need of the other because this will really make us more human and only then can we have better social and interpersonal relationships.

Developing empathy is a level of social and human maturity in a world that continually offers us less humanity and more selfishness. However, being empathic is developing your human relationship and this is important in our family, in our profession ... in all areas of our life because it will bring us benefits to live in a more optimistic world united and with hope.

According to Howard Gardner (a psychologist, researcher and professor at Harvard University, known in the scientific field for his research in the analysis of cognitive abilities and for having formulated the theory of multiple intelligences), indicates that empathy is part of the interpersonal intelligence, and it is one of the 8 intelligences that people possess.

It is for this and other reasons that it pays to be empathetic!
