Writing is a very concrete act that is carried out within certain specific molds with a lot of responsibility and discipline and this can only be carried out by writing.
In the last decades, education has changed a lot and has left behind old strategies that were very good for students to learn to write correctly and I believe that there are old strategies that are currently necessary to apply them because they have left a lot of benefit in the learning of students and I am referring to dictation.
Many theories have affirmed that the practice of dictation is a brake on creativity and free expression of students and this little by little was put aside, remaining in the background in schools until it became little practiced in strategies of the teacher in the basic primary stage, since they considered that dictation and reading aloud were considered tedious tasks that did not stimulate language learning.
I am one of the teachers who I like to keep up with the changes but I recognize that there are old strategies that I practice with my students in a balanced way because I think they pay off very well when we put them into practice as is the case with the dictation strategy to learn to write
In this vein, I suggest one dictation a day for students to learn to write and use spelling rules.
I believe that strategies must be used in a balanced way and what really leads to consider tedious learning tools is when we predominate in their application since we are called to innovate so that students also learn to look for innovation alternatives
It is important to note that daily practice is what makes the teacher, so at least once a day we must practice this learning tool which will never stop being used in education despite the introduction of new teaching methods that have been used today implemented as a strat
Currently we must recognize that some old strategies are now important to use in student learning and although obviously about dictation, multiple detractors have been heard who affirm that a dictation is nothing more than an evaluation test, I personally consider that dictation strengthens the foundations of writing in elementary school
In this vein, I want to point out why and what is dictation used for.
When we carry out a Dictation as a learning strategy to encourage writing in students, we must first of all delve into what this tool can produce in said students.
1.- there is a process of understanding and retention of the semantic structure, that is to say that understanding is essential in the learning process since this is a process of mental creation by which, based on certain data provided by an issuer, the receiver creates an image of the message you want to convey. For this, it is necessary to give a meaning to the data we receive and if this process occurs in the dictation then we are fine.
It should be noted that at the moment that the student takes dictation as a writing process after comprehension, there is an identification of words and the understanding of what is going to be written where it is assumed that the dictation not only serves to improve the spelling and knowing the grammar rules but it goes beyond it.
In addition, dictation is also very useful for students to learn new words and enrich their vocabulary as well as training so that they also learn to write faster.
There are different types of dictations, among them we can mention the secretary dictation where students write what they remember and then work in groups to build the text using all the necessary notes.
The creative dictation where the teacher only provides the adjectives, nouns, verbs and adverbs of the text so that the students add articles, prepositions, pronouns and conjuctions and in other cases the dictation starts from an aidea, and each student creates a sentence, which will dictate to the group to compose a story together.
It should be noted that dictation can also be used as an evaluation and self-evaluation tool where students can see their mistakes and know which aspects they should try harder while the teacher can verify the progress or limitations of the class and identify the problems in which should put more emphasis

I think the most important thing is developing fine motor skills. If a kid finds it difficult to write whole letters right away, perhaps it's worth starting with simple composite strokes. For example, a teacher can use materials similar to these: https://wunderkiddy.com/preschool-activity/color-the-fish This is exactly how I taught my daughter to write. We also started with elementary letters' strokes. Now she writes well.
