Earlier this week, steemiteducation began to experiment with the new community feature of steemit. This addition is something our team has been dreaming of for over two years. Our experimentation sparked a great question from a member of the steemit community. This member inquired about the purpose of steemiteducation. Although we plan on providing a more thorough answer later this weekend, we thought it might be wise to share a little about what we have already accomplished during our 36 moons on the steem blockchain.

Since May of 2017, steemiteducation has been working to encourage and reward educational content on the steem blockchain. During these 36 moons, steemiteducation has voted 18729 times on 1310 unique content creators. Moving forward, we hope to continue to encourage the creation of high quality educational content.
If you are someone who enjoys creating high quality educational content, please consider using the hive-122108 tag. At steemiteducation, not only do we believe that everyone has something to teach, we also believe everyone has something they can learn.
Even if you are not a teacher or full time student, please use this community as a resource for posting lessons or asking questions. These lessons do not need to be typical "classroom lessons". Step-by-step lessons about art, music, or do-it-yourself projects are also highly educational.
