Feedback from the March 1st Hive Power Up Day

in Hive Power7 months ago

As always, we were happy to see the enthusiasm and the participation rate in this second edition of the year 2022 of the Hive Power Up Day.

We didn't break any record this time but still have decent participation in the challenge. Power Up Day has become an important moment in the life of our community and it is now setting the pace each month.

A few words from the PUD organizers

@traciyork

February disappeared in the blink of an eye, and now the second anniversary of our blockchain home approaches towards the end of March. What better way to celebrate than to power up some Hive? And judging by all my FRIDAY Discord notifications, as well as all the #HivePUD and #HPUD in my Twitter feed, I'd say a good number of people decided to do just that.

While I don't think we're going to break any records (not at all surprising, given so many things going on in the world at the moment), I think we'll again have a goodly number of new faces joining the Power Up ranks this month. And ultimately that's the goal - to encourage our newest and smallest members to stake their tokens, so they can grow their accounts. I know a number of OG Hivers who powered up today too, which is also wicked awesome and serves as an excellent example to newbies that even bigger accounts like to celebrate the first of every month by continuing to BUIDL.

As always, a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this Power Up Day by powering up, posting, and/or shouting out on all traditional web 2.0 social media. All of those things help shine a light on the blockchain, which in turn helps to grow our community. Special thanks to @hivebuzz for always BEEing such an incredible buzz-maker for Hive Power Up Day, and for continuing to add to the blockchain fun. And here's to all the Hiveans, new and old, who continue to increase their voting power and influence on the blockchain - congratulations to you all!

What are the PUD stats of this month?

As usual, let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers, as those are the ones who deserve the most attention.

We have 8 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 8 people to get their PUD badge.

Together, the helpers gifted 98.121 HIVE!

Here is the complete list of helpers and their donation:
@jeffopenscards (25), @browery (12), @traciyork (11.11), @bananofarmer (10.01), @andrastia (10), @beststart (10), @shanibeer (10) and @tipu (10).

A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.

Previous years, we had 166 users who helped at least one less powerful user who never got any power-up from anyone.

As you know, the Power Up Helper badge is now a yearly thing, so we have reset our counter on January 2022. Here is the list of benefactors who got the so brand new coveted Power Up Helper badge for 2022:

Congratulations to @ahmadmanga, @ahmadmangazap, @bandogge, @batshaw, @brittandjosie, @buffalobison, @dawnoner, @germangenius, @herbacianymag, @iamraincrystal, @mightpossibly, @opinizeunltd, @podping, @tdctunes, @traciyork, @arcange, @dizzyapple, @forykw, @hamsterpoweriii, @hivebuzz, @holos-lotus, @ksteem, @mary-me, @silversaver888, @straykat, @thomas4711, @trippymane, @andrastia, @bananofarmer, @beststart, @browery, @jeffopenscards, @shanibeer and @tipu.

This brings the number of helpers for this year to 34 users.

Remember that the number of people you are helping will significantly influence the delegation we will do to you.

Let's now take a look at how you did against the previous editions:

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, we have a number of 391 participants. It's not the best, but not the worst either.

Regarding the volume of HIVE that have been powered-up, it's not the best but not the worst either: 53027 HIVE powered-up.

Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:

Congrats to @theycallmedan (8000), @michelios (5000), @jarvie (5000), @greenman (2379,492), @fulltimegeek (2241), @crimsonclad (2000), @jphamer1 (1959,99), @thehockeyfan-at (1050), @dsky (1000), @ellenripley (1000) and @ph1102 (1000).

They powered up at least 1000 HIVE and got the Jumbo-Bee badge.

Power Up Month is underway!

Don't forget that the Power Up Month challenge now takes place every month.

If you participated in the Power Up Day, you are automatically "registered" for the PUM and can be rewarded with a delegation of Hive Power at the end of it if you pass the challenge.

See you on April 1st for the next PUD!
