I welcome you all to another HPUD in October. Participating in hive power up is one way to grow our stake and show support to hive. Since the month of September, I've been engaging in powering up. It's not easy not to skip a day, but I see it as a good start of aiming at something bigger. In all my power up, I've never done over 20 HP, but on the 28th of September, I challenged myself to do more. I powered up 50 hive at a go and 62.5 hive in a week. It was a huge step for me, and I've seen how much my HP has increased just in September alone.
My targeted HP goal is 2k by the end of December this year. At first, I doubt if I was going to achieve it, but looking at how far I've gone in just a few weeks gives me the assurance that I will surpass my 2k HP goal. To participate in today's power up, I staked 10 Hive. I'm aiming for something huge starting this October, and I hope I get to power up more and win cool badges next month.
My account statistics isn't doing bad either. I'm seeing progress and increased activity, which is great. I want to work on engaging more in curation so I can get curation rewards and be more engaging in posts through meaningful comments.
Now, there's more fun on #Hive with the introduction of microblogging like #waves #threads #snaps and rewards is sent in hive, which is very beneficial for powering up. Today, I received some rewards from my engagement, which have enabled me to do my power up without much stress.
NEW GOALS
I'm excited to inform you all that I'm going to participate in this October power-up month (HPUM). I'm going to participate in staking at least 1 hive daily. I hope I achieve my goal and don't miss a day. To ensure I don't forget, I'm going to set a reminder for it. I'm hopeful to kickstart this and challenge myself.

But what's are the benefits of power up
The biggest benefit is that it increases your vote value, so when you upvote a post or comment you like both you and the person you're upvoting will earn more from it.
It makes it easier to get over the 2 cent dust threshold, as well - where a post or comment needs to earn more than 2 cents in total from all it's votes.
Also, it increases the value of any votes for witnesses and proposals you do, and your resource credits (the number of actions/transactions) you can do. Both vote value and resource credits regenerate after being used - about 20% comes back each day.
