I used to read newspapers when I was a teenager. Something in me said that staying informed about world events through official sources would put me ahead of the masses.Back in 2006, I went to college and picked journalism because I thought it’d suit me.
Little did I know that traditional media is full of shit and that so-called modern world media outlets have long been bought out. Free journalism? That doesn’t exist anymore.I graduated from journalism but never worked in the field, and to be honest, I never will.
In fact, after college, I had a few good years where I refused to consume any media content. It’s been about 20 years since I last watched TV.Nowadays, hardly anyone uses television or newspapers as their main sources of information.
There are literally dozens of ways to get your daily dose of internet news. Most plebs get their grip on reality from platforms like Facebook and TikTok. Personally, I ditched Facebook about eight years ago.Never ever had TikTok…
I still like staying informed, though, and the best way to get unbiased info is by following certain accounts on Twitter. But now, with so many ways to create content using AI, the amount of false information and scams running wild on the internet is fucking insane.
This morning, my father was watching some TikTok video that used the image and voice of a well-known politician from our country to push a scam investment strategy. I listened for a few seconds and knew it was fake.He wasn’t so sure, though…
He’s 65 and can get fooled easily, and there are plenty more like him. Just imagine the level of delusion humanity’s drowning in. Soon, it’ll be damn near impossible to tell truth from lies. You don’t even need AI to impersonate someone to pull that off.
Just flood the internet with contradictory opinions, and the masses won’t know what to believe anymore. It’s that simple. Whoever creates the chaos can shape the order that comes out of it.There’s a spiritual and psychological warfare going on right now, and there’s almost nothing we can do about it except stay sharp.
I consider myself pretty hard to fool, but plenty of folks will fall for whatever psyop lands in their feed.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
