Does anyone remember "Je Suis Charlie"?
Well, "Je Suis Charlie" was "a slogan and logo created by French art director Joachim Roncin and adopted by supporters of freedom of speech and freedom of the press after the 7 January 2015 shooting in which twelve people were killed at the offices of the French satirical weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo"
Freedom of speech, right?
This tag that I pointed out in the introduction was used by millions across multiple social media platforms back in 2015 in solidarity with the ones who got killed for actually mocking Mohamed and Islam.
It felt for a while that the masses are eager for the freedom of speech they seemed to support, but when Julian Assange was arrested and is now facing 18 charges under the Espionage Act and 175 years imprisonment for publishing what the American government and the British courts acknowledge was true information exposing US foreign policy after British Home Secretary Priti Patel announced that she has approved WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s extradition to the United States, not too many have taken the streets of social media in defending the right for freedom of speech.
What made the elites arrest Julian Assange and consider him a traitor rather than a "freedom of speech prophet"? He kind of exposed war crimes and the endless wars that are created by the US and paid by the working class. Wikileaks was the trojan horse on "the official freedom of speech scene" and its founder was soon targeted by these criminals willing to imprison him for life just for making use of that freedom of speech.
Assange’s legal and democratic rights have been continuously attacked. There is clear evidence that the US oversaw a massive spying operation against Assange, while he was a political refugee in Ecuador London’s embassy. This included illegal surveillance of his privileged communications with lawyers.
Last September, Yahoo! News reported that in 2017, the Trump administration and the CIA discussed kidnapping or assassinating Assange in London. The article was based on the statements of 30 former US officials.
Outgoing United Nations Rapporteur Nils Melzer has repeatedly branded the US and British treatment of Assange as torture. Hundreds of doctors have demanded Assange’s freedom and warned of his deteriorating health.
Where are the freedom of speech supporters now? The true ones are supporting Julian, but the plebs that got caught in that fake freedom of speech movement codenamed #jesuischarlie are nowhere to be found. The masses don't know much about freedom of speech in its true meaning. They're scared to talk, drowned in debt, and easily manipulable.
Julian Assange should be awarded for the work he has put in order to expose the war crimes some American officials, George Bush Jr included, are guilty of. His extradition is a slap in the face for our trashed freedoms and rights, freedom of speech included.
I've said it multiple times on my blog and will say it again, there's no real change in the world until we completely block the system and take over it. Bitcoin is an important step in that direction, but not enough... What happens with Julian Assange right now is far from being fair and the masses are sleeping on that.
All because their leaders and influencers haven't started any social media movement or online riot. We're just a bunch of sheep, that's the truth. #iamjulianassange

I usually support Amnesty International and I bring up the name of Julian Assange asking to what tangible efforts are being made by AI to address this travesty. The front line people I talk to don't even know or have any information. Sure they manage to free many international political prisoners over the years but not a peep on Julian. A person too hot to handle? Biting the hand that feeds? AI better put on their big boy pants if they want to live true to their Mission Statement.

Assange is an epitome when it comes to freedom of speech.

It's sad to see what happened to Julian Assange because our news media and government were the ones stepping out of line.

What is happening to Assange is a punishment that should cause fear and disgust in society for its heroic deeds. They do not want selflessness, they want fear and submission
Society is too dumb and obedient to realize that.

This reminds me of my one-sentence translation of the New Testament:
"Telling a lie may get you in trouble, but telling the truth will get you crucified."

I wouldn't be bothered by a total system collapse. This system is crooked anyway.
