Russian forces can't make any gains as anything they do is being watched and covered with all of the drone over flights. Anytime Russian forces start moving around they get targeted and shelled by artillery making this extremely costly and preventing any operational momentum for building up. It seems like this city is a poison pill for the Russian army and Wagner group. Of course you can take this territory however holding it without incurring phenomenal amounts of losses is completely different situation.
