A Frenchman is not to be trusted!

“A balance between the positions of the two greatest world powers” is the path that, according to French President Emmanuel Macron, Europe should follow in relation to Taiwan.

Macron says that Europe should “neither adjust to the American pace, nor an overreaction from China” and hinted at a desire to pave its own path; Macron said in an interview on Sunday that the “worst outcome would be for Europeans to think they have to become stooges” in relation to Taiwan, yet he said all this after meeting with Chinese regime leader Xi Jinping.

The gathering featured an unusual tea ceremony as part of an unusually lavish welcome for a state visit. Last week Macron traveled to China with a 50-member business delegation. Companies present included Airbus and nuclear power producer EDF, who signed agreements during Macron's visit, also noted that Europe should reduce its dependence on the US dollar.

The French president's words provoked harsh reactions in the United States, as well as in Central and Eastern Europe, especially as the United States is deeply implicated in a war taking place in Europe following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Macron is wrong, the rivalry between the West and the West is not only a question of power, but of freedoms, if Taiwan falls the liberal international order would be history, the Xi Jinping regime is a model of totalitarian control, it is a threat to freedom and democracy everywhere.
