RE: news roundup

What sucks is the algorithm game on Youtube is about speed, and consistency.
Which rewards people who can just put stuff out quickly with less focus and creativity.
As a creator I struggle to produce a video a month, but I've become better as I've gone along.

If you want to build on youtube, my advice, which I don't listen to myself lol, is its all about audience retention today - you need to have something that someone watches through - but you also need audience interaction - so people have to link, share, etc. ,your videos - so you do like high quality videos, that are deep dives - and you do enough of them, like once a month, you probably will gain traction - like into topics related to topics - I could do this also, but honestly I can't be bothered anymore. I have not seen any channel, that did not do high quality content, put out something regularly - that is non politic related - not grow. - Hope that helps + I read your review of the backrooms and I do concur!

I'm the same exact way with advice.
I give people advice that I 100% agree with, and I believe it is the right and smart thing to do; and then I just ignore it for myself lol.

But thank you for the advice.
I think that's what I am already doing to some degree.
My videos are about technology Linux & open-source software, and I don't really go into politics. Though some people try to do that in the comments.
The video before last really got some traction, and it's at 73k views and I saw a jump in subscribers too.
The one after that I published 2 weeks ago, and it's at 10k views.
But sometimes I'll go 3 videos in a row where they struggle to reach one thousand.

I did a 2 hour deep-dive about the first Playstation that is basically the video I would want to watch. Like everything I ever wanted to know about it and more.
It got 250 views early on and I think now it's at maybe 800?
To me, it was the best work I had ever done, and there are a few people who seem to appreciate the comprehensive work/editing. But it just didn't catch the algorithm.
There are times where a video won't hit, and then it'll catch traction much later.

And thank you for reading.
I love this platform because it gives me a chance to write and expand out into things I don't do in videos.
I've always liked the work you do though.
You always touch on the really wild things, but stay grounded while doing it.
You have a very even-keel to your commentary.

well, 10k views is great, its doing much better than me. I am trying to change it up how i title and tag things, I dont think "news roundup" all the time is doing me any favors.

About your video, that happens a lot with the early content - but if you keep on going, regular, you should be able to catch the algorithm, if there i nothing political in it - once it knows you are a constant producer - that is where it starts to kick in, I've found.

Thanks for the kind words!
