I have to say, never before have i been so relieved to be ill! Until now i have wondered if i would ever get the covid bug, and as a non vaccinated human i have been waiting to see what would happen should the occasion come to pass. Until yesterday I was not really sure, but now after talking to a few people i realise that i have indeed gone through the whole COVID saga without even being sure of it!
One thing IS for sure, this was unlike any other kind of illness i have had, judged mainly by the way my body reacted and felt. I can remember the moment i probably got it, i was in my local organic food shop and one of the staff passed me whilst coughing quite badly. It was one of those horse dry coughs and it didn't sound good. I have a feeling it was her who shared it with me!
THen, 24 hours later it hit. For me at least the onset was sudden and intense. One minute I was going about my business and then at around 7pm I started to get the chills! It definitely wasn't cold, and i also got that dreaded headache again, although it was different. Soon enough the chills turned into sweats and it was clear i had better get to bed.
I spent that entire night sweating intensely, shivering and sweating.. i wasn't sure if i was hot or cold at times. It was a long night, and when the sun finally rose the next morning, to my surprise i was through the worst of it! It was FAST, so fast in fact that I do wonder if my two weeks of AYurvedic treatments had really helped me to clear it out. ive never been so ill for just 12 hours, but that was how it was.
Whilst the fever and sweats had abated, i was really low on energy, still with a sore head and my body felt just so weak. I had no desire to go out or do anything, and really just wanted to sleep.
I listened to my body and spent most of that day in bed, doing not much. I just about found the energy to cook something so i did eat a little. THe only thing was no sooner had i eaten than i was ready to sleep again. No energy.
The next day it was much the same. IN fact it took me about 4 days in total to get the energy to be able to want to do anything. I pushed myself finally and started a fitness app on my phone that had sat unused for many years! That bit of exercise helped me feel a bit more human again, and i really felt it. I was weak, very weak.
I did a bit more exercise almost every day since then, and that was now around 5 days ago. Now a full week later I am happy to say that I am back on track and more or less where i was before. THankfully my head feels clear, no pains, and just a bit of muscle soreness.
I will continue this exercise as I think it really helps. I never had any horrid cough, which was something i was anticipating could have been an issue since i do smoke and also have had some weird breathing issues in the past. I could feel i had a pretty good chest infection, and was coughing up all kinds of lovely coloured phlegm, but no cough. I do wonder in fact whether smokers may suffer less from some of the more serious respiratory issues. As mad as that sounds, it could be so. My logic is that smokers have a lot more mucus and lining in the lungs and air passages. This phlegm is a kind of protection, that is why the body makes it, and it protects not only against smoke but also viruses. I haven't seen any stats on that, but i do wonder. If it were true im sure that 'our leaders' would never tell us!
So I am feeling quite relieved now, and have now not got any fear left about catching this thing. That unnerving feeling when you meet someone with covid symptoms is gone, and yesterday when a friend came to visit who was also recovering from covid i was not concerned about catching it from her! Its feels good, and im enjoying this sense of freedom from fear.. not that i was really that scared but i did have some fear because i just wasn't sure how it would effect me.
so YAY! Im not going to say that "I don't know what all the fuss was about", because i think that would be a bit of an ignorant comment since many people have suffered far worse than I did. I guess i got lucky, and the timing was very good as i got it after doing so much positive health work just before.
It seems everyone here (in India) is getting it now, and its passing very swiftly and without much drama at all. .. much like the rest of the world... I do wonder though, how this whole thing would have turned out if our leaders had taken advice from the right people. Im not even going to start talking about the absolute terrible effects that fear has had on the very people who are supposed to be level headed and make good decisions. Looking at how Omicron is panning out I would say that we would have been far better of just weathering it and not playing these insane games with everyone for so long. What a shame.
In the end, what made our leaders start shifting the narrative was the grasp for Power. UK is now leading the way in Europe for how to actually deal with this, and now much of EUrope are starting to follow. THank god for that thirst for power, because that is was finally made the UK PM Boris Johnson stop all the lockdowns and paranoia. He had made some big mistakes and in order to save his job he had to completely ignore the advice being given to him by the infamous 'Sage" advisors. Now we have passed through this without any issues it is clear, the advice was all wrong and always has been.
This isn't something people will discuss much, the fact that all of the advice was wrong. One day i hope we may understand why it was so wrong. I believe it to be a combination of pure innocent fear from those scientists who job it was was to predict these worst case scenarios, combined with a very corrupt pharmaceutical industry who have minted untold fortunes from this dibarcle.
We still can see a few stragglers in the corona game, notably Canada, Australia, and New Zealand seem to have lost their way. It's also hard to say exactly why this is, and it's also not something i wish to get into. I decided some months ago now to stop writing much about these things, i find life easier that way!
SO wishing you all well! If you have had covid id love to hear how it was for you? Im very curious how it all goes for others! Have a great week! <3
We are really deep in tyranny here in Canada now. Covid is over, but the government just gets stricter and nastier every day. We are in big trouble.
India has ivermectin widely available. That really helps. We can't get it here, and the media tells people it's poisonous.
i have seen! at least the people are standing up now, and that is so good to see.. no idea what happeend with canada as i thought the government were pretty cool and liberal.. i guess i was wrong! I hope for you all it resolves soon in a peaceful and productive way...
Almost similar for many with some variation for others - we all got it but I was ok in 2 days without any medicine - others had this fatigue for 4 days and also they complained having headache - we did some naturopathy about which I wrote. This time, everyone is getting it - its almost like air borne now.
wow,, yeah everyone really is getting it huh.. glad you were basically Ok too.. naturopathy is the way for sure! onwards! :0
I am double vaccinated, but caught Covid last week!
I was just a bit, had a small headache and is still coughing a bit, that have been all xD So ye, pretty easy :p
I am also super happy to haven gotten it, now I have more nature immunity :D
congrats! yeah that natural immunity is the one to have! glad u made it through so lightly! <3
Excatly! I am not against getting vaccinated (Obviously, since I got the jab twice) but nature immunity is just so much better and healthier without a doubt :D
Thanks buddy!
Seems like you also got through it fairly easy without many problems which is good to hear :D
I have heard that training to fast after covid, can make some of the symptoms comeback, but I think it depends on how hard one is training :D
Delta variant was very bad compared to the omicron. I agree those 4-5 days become worst coughing all say and all those body aches
yeah i guess i got lucky and missed the delta.. probably for the best.. hopefully you are all protected now with some natural immunity.
Yes natural immunity also vaccine. But I also got Omicron. Actually with me I recovered from delta in 2 days but in Omicron it took me 2 weeks.
Omicron is good at attacking on lungs. It just dosen't stop
So much similar to my experience. I am not sure if it was Covid only but symptoms were somewhat like it. For me it was a 2 day thing where again no much fuss, little temperature and itchy dry throat. By day 3 I was back on my feet up and running. A little weakness but that could be easily overlooked.
Thanx to all the deep breathing, Yoga, Meditation and the right diet practices which had made my system so better to deal with these type of situations.
As far as fear is concerned that was one thing I did not have a bit of it. During peak covid I have stayed in hospital with my hubby and never worn mask. So that gives me all the more confidence on my immune system.
Thanx for sharing your experience.
I do agree that many people have gone through tough health conditions and suffered, but at the same time, there are many who have made it over dramatic.
At the end of the day, I believe it is Karma, how you treat your body, it will give back to you with interest.
Take care of yourself Alex and wishing you good health 💖
you are so brave! sounds like your body is strong.. no surprise there as i think a heart filled with love is the ultimate protection :)
ok time to look after this body , agreed! <3
I think I had Covid on my birthday (Jan. 9) which lasted for two days. The day before I started having the infamous "dry cough" people keep talking about. It was not really serious, more a bodily signal than anything serious to be worried about. The next day I felt kinda out of it, getting worse towards the afternoon, and by the evening the most attractive thing for me was bumming like a couch potato. That's when I actually made the connection with the dry cough I had developed. But other than that I had none of the typical symptoms: no fever, no loss of taste or smell, no body aches, none of the digestive stuff that may or may not be Covid related.
Best of all, the following day I was back to normal. That's when I tried getting tested, but failed due to insane bureaucracy and a non-functioning website, where I would have had to register in. So I will never know if it was actually Covid I had. However, for the last 3-4 years I haven't had any kind of ailment at all! Not even the 3-day sniffles I used to have once or twice a year, which people call "catching a cold" though it probably was a light form of the once feared influenza, which by now has apparently "vanished without a trace".
I'm glad to see you made it through Covid similarly without problems.
oh wow! what timing.. thanks for sharing ! sounds like you are super healthy.. and strongh.. no surprise there also,, i think you are probably quite fit too judging by the amount of physical work you seem to do!
glad u made it too x
Glad that you are ok!
I just recovered too. It was what we would have called a very mild flu, just two years ago. What a load of hooey. I did nothing but rest, drink high quality fluids, and eat a little bit of fruit. Easy. I would not be surprised to learn that the patients who go on to be long haulers were taking tylenol, nyquil, sudafed and toxins like those. Our bodies can heal from this, and easily. Just stop poisoning ourselves with medical toxins.
well said! yes no more medical toxins indeed! congrats on a swift recovery.. thanks for sharing...
Glad you are ok and over it so soon.
My Dad 80 survived, thank God, but he was 7 weeks in hospital 3 weeks in a normal hospital and 4 weeks in a rehab. His lungs was not that affected, he never smoked, but he was cognitely hugely impacted. He was extremely weak, could not walk and on diapers. He could not even remember his own cellphone number. But as soon as he came home he started to get back almost everything lost. Still a little cognitive impairment further he is fine. Currently he is away. Earlier in the year he went to visit family by plane, this time he hopped on a bus and is even visiting some girlfriends. He had covid, approx 10 months ago.
oh wow, that is an amazing story of recovery.. so happy for you all.. <3
