I am absolutely going to say that the easiest way to prevent an economic collapse? Start a war and unify the country.
Quite a lot of conflicts have kept the economic production levels high saving those countries even while they butcher their populations in warfare.
So china being broke this actually is most cost-effective way to take over Taiwan.

What about the LAC and India.
When china brought in martial artists to teach traditional arts to the Chinese troops and they got spanked. 2-1 losses by china.
Then china brings up MMA fighters and training. They still got spanked after learning kungfu that didn't help.
China? When has it won a military engagement? The Chinese civil War. Communist China refrained from attacking the Japanese and attacked the nationalist party from behind and that's how we got Taiwan...
