When I mesh it with ancient histories, it is a human condition to breed opportunists and psychopaths. It goes beyond Race and Ideologies.
You can slice it to sections, where there is a section of humanity, who seem to carry a set of traits & we can label them, such as Fascism.
But then you scan across to another set of humanity, in another time and place, to see a whole set of new types of attributes, which connects to another set of humanity which is focused on causing devastation upon another group.
Deuteronomy 20:16-18
“But of the cities of these peoples which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance, you shall let nothing that breathes remain alive, but you shall utterly destroy them: the Hittite and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, just as the LORD your God has commanded you, lest they teach you to do according to all their abominations which they have done for their gods, and you sin against the LORD your God."
It can only happen when the mass of individuals act in unison. They all accept the same drum beat. The see the opportunities as a whole, as part of their own opportunity. Or the protection from a project Fear.
If anyone falls to the wayside, it jeopardises all. So, we must bring them into line - for the "Greater Good"!
Wow, and we seem to only see clearer once time has passed. Once all of the profits have been squeezed. Once, those in Power pivot to a new chess game.

yes, i've read much into the Second World War, but had not known of Operation Unthinkable - I had thought they were trying to cap the Russian influence politically & racing to reach Berlin 1st.
