Children Don't Pass COVID to Adults According to Study

in Deep Dives4 years ago

Children have shown to be the most resilient age group to COVID-19 infection. Very few have died due to pre-existing health conditions. But schools were shutdown first when the lockdown measures began. Just to be safe, as all the other government edicts have been justified by.

A recent review of studies has concluded what has been seen play out in the data for deaths. They are the least contagious, even with 80% of people not being contagious in the whole population as recent data from another study suggests.

Children as less contagious than adults, even if they do have symptoms. So much so, that they don't play a significant role at all in the spread of COVI-19 throughout the population. For children under the age of 10, not one single case has been found where such an infected child has managed to spread COVID-19 to someone else. And that was according to contact tracing carried out by the WHO.

There is sometimes a critical illness, but that's really rare. The paper's conclusion is:

COVID-19 appears to affect children less often, and with less severity, including frequent asymptomatic or subclinical infection. There is evidence of critical illness, but it is rare. The role of children in transmission is unclear, but it seems likely they do not play a significant role. Changes in laboratory or radiographic parameters are slightly different to adults, and changes usually mild. There is no direct evidence of vertical transmission, and early evidence suggests both infected mothers and infants are no more severely affected than other groups. Early evidence suggests no significant increased risk for children with immunosuppression, but further data is needed.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) was a partner in the study, who also said there is no evidence (yet) that children are spreading the virus. Children also had more mild symptoms than adults when they aren't asymptomatic 32% of the time for ages 6 to 10. Only a handful of reported cases in children result in alleged COVID-19 deaths.

With this data, it's clear the closure of schools and the continued strict measured imposed on children at school to distance and wear masks is overblown. Fear needs to stop dictating their lives, imposed by authorities around theme. Let children get back to school. Home schooling is better than the government indoctrination centers. Maybe the COVID-19 fear-hype panic has had some families change to home schooling. That would be a positive thing to come out of this mess.

In case you missed it, this is what many (or some )schools have turned into:

I'd stick with the Pink Floyd conclusion of teachers leaving your kids alone.

I'd upvote, but it appears my 8 cents would be lost in the massive downvotes you've already piled up. What's going on?

I don't think most schools should have closed. Some educational pamphlets should have been circulated, maybe a talk from a public health nurse one afternoon, but shutting all schools across the continent? Not that I believe children should learn from the state, but that's another post :)

Don't worry about that. My vote is worth less than 2 cents. I still vote. Lots of little fish can outdo a big whale 😄💪

I hadn't noticed :P

Gotta keep those schools open, I pay taxes for my kids to get babysat and raised by government funded institution and government approved programs :P
