We were told, a lockdown and isolation were imposed on populations in order to keep the hospital admittance of patients low. But even so, the sick will come, they said, and we need more hospitals to treat them all.
And so, the great field hospital building of 2020 commenced in the US. The Army Corps of Engineers contracted private companies to turn convention centers and other places into field hospitals. With tax payers money, federal spending for field hospitals amounted to over $660 million, according to NPR.

Of the 17 field hospitals, most haven't treated a single patient. Four aren't completed, and 9 have had 0 patients. The most used was predictably NYC with 1,095 total patients. After that it's 39 and 37 patients in Detroit and Chicago, respectively.
Some of the costs are staggering compared to others. For example, a 1,000 bed capacity in Detroit cost $9,452,813, while a similar 1,038 bed capacity in Stony Brook, N.Y. cost $155,500,000.

Surprisingly the most expensive cost was not in NYC, but it was in New York. The aforementioned Stony Brook field hospital was the most expensive. Next up was another New York location in Old Westbury, N.Y. which was $118,504,737. These are the only 2 that cost more than $100 million. Additionally, they both had 0 patients ever use the field hospitals.
The next most expensive was in Chicago, but for a lot less, at $65,526,533. At least they treated a staggering 37 patients, as previously mentioned.
Obviously, there wasn't planning done to see if these locations even needed field hospitals. Not even New York needed it, as the field hospital ships that were docked weren't even used as I recall. However, several governors praised the fact that none of them were even used in their states.
Despite having so many beds available in New York, Dr. Robyn Gershon of NYU's School of Global Public Health recalls how the message was to stay at home until you turn blue. Great advice from people who are supposed to look out for the health of others.
"The mantra was, 'Don't come to the hospital, don't go to the doctor, stay home, stay home till your lips turn blue. "Well, we now know that was a crazy set of advice."
This is a good example of how humanity is not some flawlessly well-greased conspiracy theory where the deep state micro-manages every little detail. The world is chaos and no one is in control of it, there are just people out there that have a million times more power than the little guys. We should not mistake this power as the master plan of some single centralized entity (Satan). It is rather a network effect of thousands of greedy people attempting to control billions. The rulers of this world lose, gain, and trade power every day.
Yeah, people who share a common goal to control others, and work together to impose their will onto others. Don't call that a conspiracy if you don't want to ;)
Sharing is the last thing these people want.
They only join forces when both sides have something to gain.
There are plenty zero-sum-game situations where one side wins and another loses.
Right now we are in a situation where everyone loses if they fuck up this controlled demolition of the economy.
That's what we need to realize:
There is a lose/lose scenario they are trying to avoid, and that's good for everyone.
Of course the rampant worldwide unstoppable corruption pushes us closer to that breaking point.
We saw the exact same thing on Steem.
Whales started upvoting themselves and people were using bidbots.
Everyone felt helpless to stop it, so they just started performing the same bad actions that hurt the network as a whole.
There's a lot of winging it that's been going on in the US. Asia went through this with SARS, so immediately implemented what they learned during the worst of that that finally allowed them to control it. They went from zero to 100 in seconds, so to say. Here in the US, we've never encountered something so infectious in anyone's lifetime. (Not since 1918) How things like lockdown combine with masks, contact tracing, etc. is being figured out here still. I think they were preparing as if there was no effect of the lockdown. We got 80k deaths with the lockdown nationwide and I recall doctors saying before that if the lockdown worked it would seem like we over-reacted.
SARS-CoV had 774 attributed deaths worldwide. Contact tracing works at the beginning to try to stop the spread. Quarantine infected, trace their contacts, quarantine, and stop the spread. Too late now, especially for a virus that's like a more severe flu, not a plague or devastating illness.
I think it's worse than even the most severe flu. I mean 80K dead in just a few months WITH the lockdown. Here's probably the best article I've seen on severity, and infectious rate is higher for sure.
But I think we have to pull things back to the stage of current infection where contact tracing and testing in combination do start working again. That's doable. In fact, here's a good rundown of what different countries have done that worked. You can see that whether they got it right from the start (few cases at all) or after lockdown slowed the current number of actively infected to be a small enough number, the same actions seem to work consistently.
I just don't see how we don't keep going back into lockdowns, as ERs get overwhelmed in cascading waves of high infection, if we don't eventually decide to do what we should have done from the start. Let's hope we don't wind up needing all those empty field hospitals in 2nd wave. For the Spanish Flu, 2nd wave was ten times as lethal as the first wave.
Do you know much of the attributed "COVID-19 deaths" are from things like heart attacks, or dementia, or dehydration from hospital care neglect, or other causes of death that aren't actually from COVID-19? The death counts have admittedly been inflated, admitted by Dr. Birx and the CDC. Hospitals are letting people die from neglect, and causing deaths from incompetence, and they whitewash it, removing accountability by slapping a "COVID" death certificate on it. What is the actual death count? Not what it currently it, but lower. That reduces the death rate.
Do you think the current cases is the actual number of people who have been infected? Or do you recognize that more of the population has bee infected, and has not noticed, having no or mild symptoms? The more there are infected, the lower the death rate for the infected.
Do you know how well Sweden has done without a lockdown? Did you know even the WHO has acknowledged them as a model for other nations? Last time I checked between the US and Sweden, Sweden had near the same death rate for it's population, and both were close to the flu of 2017-2018 in percentage. It's like a more severe flu with the current death count, and those are not the true death counts as they are inflated in many nations.
Do you understand the deaths that will result from forced unemployment from governments as a result of unemployment, depression, poverty, domestic abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, and suicides? The projections for the lockdown will have more deaths than the virus.
What ERs are overwhelmed? In New York, yes some hospitals are. a few in other cities. but many hospitals are ghost towns in their ER. I went to mine a few weeks back with my newborn, and it was empty with 2 other people. Normally there are many people. There is not an overcrowding at most hospitals. Many hospitals are laying people off as they have no patients to treat.
This is not like the Spanish Flu. Most people are fine and hardly notice it. The only ones that needed to be isolated were a target group of the elderly and those with co-morbidities or compromised immune systems. They would have avoided contact with everyone else who would have built a herd immunity and then that aforementioned target group couldn't have been affected once joining the rest of the population. Instead, everyone was locked down, ensuring a longer suffering period for everyone. Sweden showed the way to do it. NYC failed to protect the elderly, ordering nursing homes to take in COVID-19 patients that infected the rest.
Did you look at the two articles I shared with you?
I can accept that the 80k deaths number in the US under lockdown, and whatever % death rate that implies is probably unknowable. But I still believe it is worse than the flu, and worth looking at many other countries and how they've kept their numbers down. Sweden is one, and there are others to look at too, not just a selective one.
For the most part, what we see is that things like mask wearing, widespread testing, and contact tracing then isolating only those sick has worked. So to me the only real question is, why aren't we doing that? Sure, we missed the window where we could have avoided lockdown the way some countries have. But that doesn't mean we can't do that coming out of lockdown. What makes no sense to me is that we aren't even preparing to do that while in lockdown. Talk about a wasted lockdown. No progress is being made during it, only sacrifice that will be wasted as soon as we come out of lockdown with still no widespread mask wearing (Japan's approach, with no lockdown and only 2% of our death rate per capita) or widespread testing (the Hong Kong and Taiwan way), etc.
I think we agree that the lockdown is hurting people more than the disease right now. I think we disagree on what will hurt most a few months from now. My hope is that we never get to find out which one of us is right, because we make the right choices to have minimal lockdown and maximum containment of this virus without a horrific 2nd wave.
You are never going to get them to see that eighty thousand people dying in about months time is more than a seasonal flu type illness. They'll completely ignore that the flu season starts in September and runs through May with half that amount of people actually being documented as having died from the flu or complications of the flu or getting pneumonia from the flu. The CDC for two years after a flu season go over all death records and adds people who died of any respiratory illness during the flu season and list them under dying of complications of the flu and same with those who die of pneumonia during the flu season only they get listed under flu and pneumonia deaths. They do that they claim because some people may have gotten the flu but got over the flu before ending up going to the hospital as a result of their respiratory illness still being out of control to contain after fighting off the flu but there's no trace of the flu virus left at that point. Anti vaxxers will tell you it's because they want to heighten the number of deaths for the flu so they can continue to push vaccines. You will never get them either to see the impact this has on people with pre existing conditions. I've been around and around with many bloggers on this point to no avail. I've told them my son's girlfriends father has Wegeners Disease, if he lives until Nov 2021 he'll be the longest living survivor of the disease. He in no way, shape or form at this point to fight off an infection with this disease, that's how compromised he is right now. If he got this virus and ended up dying they don't even want to consider that the virus did him in despite the fact that if he hadn't gotten it he'd still be alive. He would have been listed as dying from Wegeners disease complicated by the flu. So Wegeners and Covid would be on his death certificate but according to them it should not be.
They will also push Sweden as a model of everything done right when they run a death toll ten percent higher than Denmark and Finland. They'll then argue that the Netherlander and other area's outranked Sweden without putting into perspective land mass and density of the population. They also completely ignore that Sweden has the highest population of single individuals living to a household. With family spread being the fastest way it spreads then you can't give it to someone in the household if there is no one else living there with you. Sweden is one of the smallest populations that are trailing right behind some of the largest populations in the world when it comes to tracking deaths.
There really was a limited amount of time before this virus was going to roll on shore here in the US, they did the proper thing getting people out of harms way. There's an old saying that goes prepare for the worse and hope for the best. That's what they did. Just like the old saying better to be safe than sorry. A lot of this was about not over whelming the medical facilities, now most facilities have the equipment and some have expanded their capacities, like here one of our hospitals when they built an office/research facility across from them they did it in a fashion that it could be easily converted to use for any potential emergency that would require additional capacity. Now they are stocked and ready. It's true the world can't hide forever and we have to move forward but the way this virus came barreling down on the world I think they did a good job moving people out of harms way and it saved many lives, we do have to move forward though as the other old saying goes the cure can't be worse than the disease and I think they've had time to think and implement plans now that they didn't have before this came rushing down on us.
It's a great waste as statistics has shown. It's just an avenue for politicians to steal money with backdoor deals. How can two similar structures of similar capacity cost vastly different.
Yeah, you said it, kickbacks and backroom deals likely.
Indeed a waste of money. People are dying from hunger, cancer and other expensive to treat diseases and they spend hundred of millions on this measures that are actually not needed. Those are really taking us for fools. I hope all the protests in the world to make a difference and wake up more people towards the lie that we're being served and these elites that have the purpose to enslave us all.
Hehe, another round of fleecing the public tax chest for others to make lots of money.
Hello friend @krnel, here I am reading your publications, it is impressive the amount of money used for those provisional hospitals, which in the end gave them the proper use, perhaps because of the area where they were located or simply the idea was to justify the money that comes in from taxpayers, they simply continue to play with human health and the covid-19 continues to advance without anyone actually contributing anything positive to counteract the evil that is killing us. That is the sad reality good afternoon.-
I think they are ready for when we all get shafted by the 5G 😝

Hmmm, if you people complain of your own country, what of my own country. My country have claim that Covid 19 is real, for over 2 months now we have been indoor. Billion of naira have been collected b the government over this Virus, we only hear in radio or Tv that thousands of people are been dead some are in isolation center but they have never one day show those that are infected. The rules of my country have used the Covid 19 to eat and fill their pocket with my countrys money. The poor ones are crying and dieing of hungry. The first man that die during this virus was a result of high blood pressure, heart attack and some other sickness but my country record his death as a result of the so call Corona Virus. Is only God will save you.
