That's quack-errific of you to turn the spotlight on this cockroach. Policing speech like my favorite asshole, @hivewatcher has been the detriment of my inspirations here on #HIVE

Quack-tastic! I suppose the 'policing' when done by the community doesn't rely on a single arbiter or a powerful weapon (aka, whale's downvote).

We need to stand for the values of what Hive means to us, as the ability to get an independent eye on the world is 50 percent of the reason I'm even on this thing. The other 50 percent is my music and creative endeavours of course.

All the best and thanks for dropping by!

tonygreene113 was blacklisted for perpetual plagiarism and copypasta spam.

The blacklist has nothing to do with what was in the writing.

He confuses freedom of speech with freedom to steal someone else's writing to publish it as own while also attempting to monetize it.

Interested to know @hivewatcher, what is the post or posts in question?

And is it possible to get off the list if someone retracts the posts by editing them?

Also, is mirroring material that would otherwise be censored by centralised media considered plagiarism by your standards?

What are your standards?

I'm genuinely curious.

I keep an eye on them for the same reasons.

Permanent blacklisting! That doesn't just prevent Hivewatchers from seeing their content, but everyone who follows a blacklisted person's works on popular platforms.

I know a new user who has felt compelled to spam post daily apology posts on his blog for a month, attempting to redeem himself to Hivewatchers, and they continued to spam comment all of their future original works as well with warnings of plagiarism, even after they corrected their ways.

Anyway, I'm off topic from this main post.

I am willing to support countermeasures to keep the Quack from attacking those who are peacefully expressing open free speech of ideas and opinions.

@creativetruth

"I know a new user who has felt compelled to spam post daily apology posts"

If the blacklisted decided to spam the apology posts every day to further make the situation worse then it is the user's choice.
Such begging practice and not following our clear rules regarding an appeal process would only make the situation worse for that user.

Unless you are suggesting that we forced the user to do so.
In such case please stop spreading false information about us.
We have never asked anyone to post an "apology to the community" every single day.

We ask for it to be posted only once. The appellants do not apologize to us but to the community.

@montycashmusic

"And is it possible to get off the list if someone retracts the posts by editing them?"

They can edit them but they have to go through the appeal process anyway if they are blacklisted.

tonygreene113 was given few warnings before he was blacklisted.
He continued to plagiarise or spam with copypasta, regardless.

All the replies that we received were some nonsense about freedom of speech or some nonsensical replies and gifs/memes being sent back.

Later he became vulgar and started replying with insults.

Unless you are suggesting that we forced the user to do so.

Nope, I can't say you forced anyone to do anything. To that, I can only state what I have witnessed.

When people learn they are blacklisted, and the appeals isn't working for them, they search for solutions. Sometimes, I notice people's emotions take over their better judgement in this process, which is understandable.

Thanks for your reply @hivewatcher

I don't know enough about the case to make an assessment.

Where can one find this appeal process if one needs it?

And are some users, even if it seems they have gone too far, able to redeem themselves after a time?

Also how long does an appeal normally take?

I am not disregarding a need for such a service to the community, it's just a few people feel like they're being picked on without cause.

What about user chadchaddington what crime did he commit in your books?

.........just watching where the Qurious Qunning Quackwatcher seems to be heading :D
