Total years of life lost 3x greater in 2017 than 2020

When you look at deaths, not all deaths are equal. The death of a 90-year-old is not as severe as the death of a 5-year-old. This is because of what is called the years of life lost (YLL). When you look at the average life expectancy (say 70), someone who dies at 5 years old has lost 65 years of life compared to someone who is 90 or even 65 years old who still had five years left to live potentially.

Someone who barely got to live their life with only 5 years is a sadder more tragic death than someone who lived their life and had a full life.

A paper published in April 2021 puts the deaths of 2020 into a more accurate perspective. If you look at how many people died in 2020, it's not that much more men some other years in the past decade or two. But when you look at the YLL, is much much less in some years, such as 2017.

Not only was the YLL higher in 2017, so was the excess deaths: 376,504 deaths in 2020 and 401,000 excess deaths in 2017. Here's what the paper had to say about the YLL:

The comparison is more striking when years of life lost (YLL) is the measure used. Goldstein and Lee (11) estimate that the mean loss of life years for a person dying from COVID-19 in the United States is 11.7 y. Multiplying 377,000 decedents by 11.7 y lost per decedent gives a total of 4.41 M years of life lost to COVID-19 in 2020, only a third of the 13.02 million life years lost to excess mortality in the United States in 2017 (Table 1). The reason that the comparison is so much sharper for YLL than for excess deaths is that COVID-19 deaths in 2020 occurred at much older ages, on average, than the excess deaths of 2017.

2020 had for million life years lost, whereas 2017 had 13 million life years lost. That's one third the amount in 2020 compared to 2017. 2017 had three times more years of life lost. This is a far more accurate measure of the severity of deaths in a year.

The difference is, you didn't have the media and government selling you on fear of an allegedly dangerous new virus was unlike anything ever seen before, parading death counts on the news constantly over and over. Project Veritas in an undercover report had a CNN director admit that they purposely sold the death count to promote fear and get people to continue watching and coming back for more find out if they were still in danger and how much danger they were in.

In the 2020 death counts are demonstrably inflated as it was admitted early on in 2020 that anyone who died with a PCR test positive, or even a doctor's diagnosis that someone had Covid, was counted as a Covid death rather than merely dying with a virus allegedly being present in their body. Not that the virus actually caused the death, but merely was present. This is how the deception for the death counts has continued.
