If you paste links from youtube (at least) without inserting them specifically as a RUL then the video will embed into hive posts and be viewable inside of Hive, instead of directing people away from Hive.

You have any clout with BT? If we could embed vids from Odysee, Rumble, and Bitchute, the community could avoid the more centralized platform Toobyou, which I make every effort to do, but sometimes resort to because it's the only video I can embed. AFAIK BT is the only guy that can make that happen.
Embedding of videos into Hive's front ends has nothing to do with the core blockchain or BT. Support for external video embeds lies with the various developers of the front ends, so you can talk to them in their Discords about why they do or don't support any particular site. I agree that they should be supporting all of them.
I appreciate the sound counsel. I use Peakd, so that's where I think such embeds will reach most folks.
