RE: NFT Gaming Hell

in Deep Dives2 years ago

There is nothing wrong with NFTs nor with play to earn in principle, thats not a new concept and its not a little bit of money neccessarily but can be quite profitable. But then, will i actualy keep it in my wallet? Not your keys, not your coins. Anyways, those companies, yeah they will not do anything about it "right" i.e. the way wed want it.Would it be okay to have, say, your Guild Wars or Diablo 3 items NFTs? Not intrinsicly, no. Would be preferable in many ways to how it is actualy handled for how it is handled means they can ban you and take your items away. If they are NFTs they can not do that. But then, mostly it doesnt make a lot of sense for most games. See, crytpocuties where you can breed them on the blockchain, 0xUniverse where you use your planets to launch ships to discover more planets on the blockchain, and the like, all of that does have utility on the blockchain. In their games what would it do? Well, if it is a singleplayer game, itd just be a way to lock content i suppose - with the advantage actualy that you can resell the DLC itself to others when you are done playing but are they actualy going to allow for that? Yeah i dont think so.
In blockchaingames obviously there is actual utility, theres also games where it makes sense such as Gods Unchained, a traditional trading card game, with often ways to earn ingame which during certain events was quite profitable, actualy. But traditional games? Yeah i dont see a way to integrate NFTs that is beneficial in any way, shape or form. Its just the normies are going crazy over NFTs without any utility to those NFTs at all for some reason. So, while i agree that it is a problem i do not think it is inherent to NFTs nor do i trust those corporations wont pull the same shit regardless of NFTs being involved to be honest.
