How many times has Netanyahu said the exact same thing he is claiming now: Iran is about to get nukes and glass Israel. IIRC, he first said it in 1992. He says it every couple years. It's never been true, and it isn't true now.

Netanyahu would glass London, Paris, Moscow, Tehran, New York, LA, and every city in the world over 1M in population without a shred of regret to stay out of jail and in power. That's who he is, and the only problem we have is that he's not alone. I am not convinced Iran is an impregnable fortress. My recollection of the Alexandrian campaign was that Bronze age military tactics conquered it with facility. Alexander reached India, necessarily passing through Persia on the way. You mentioned oil briefly, and I learned ~10 years ago that there are ~2T bbls of oil under Colorado alone. Closing the Straits of Hormuz would crush Iran and China economically and benefit Russia and the USA.

You probably are right about the fortress thing, I guess we will see what happens - no doubt its a long laid out plane to take the country out, so they have war gamed everything - Iran only has like 400 planes, in term of an air-force - the US has like 14,000 plus Israel - so the bombs will be flying.
