How did this happen? The country I was born and raised in, a beautiful country, has become a brutal and bloody crime scene. Pieces of flesh, blood, bone fragments and brain matter is strewn across its’ landscapes. Our protectors have become our abusers. Predators are left to roam free.
I am a crime and investigation fanatic. I could watch the crime channel 24/7. I’ve watched plenty of documentaries on the worlds’ most notorious killers. To refresh your memory, I’ll even name a few:
“Jack the ripper” – No one knows who this guy was. It remains an unsolved mystery till this very day. He killed 5 women and mutilated their corpses.
“Ted Bundy” – He killed mostly college-aged women. He would kidnap, rape and dismember his victims. He admitted to killing 30 women.
“Jeffrey Dahmer” – He was known as the “Milwaukee Cannibal”. He was convicted of killing 17 men over a period of 14 years. His killings included rape, dismembering and even eating some of his victims. He admitted to drilling holes into his victims heads to turn them into sex slaves.
“Albert Fish” – He had so many names! The moon maniac, the Brooklyn Vampire, The Boogey Man, The Werewolf of Wysteria, The Gray Man. He was tried and found guilty of raping, killing and cannibalizing 3 children. He claimed he killed over 100 children and he seemed proud that he had “kids in every state”
Well, these are just a few. There are many more killers like this. The point is that these are some of the killers who actually made the news. What they did was horrendous but if my sources are to be believed, people still sleep with their doors unlocked, no extreme fencing to keep the “boogey man” out, no sleeping with weapons under their pillows… Life goes on right? Not in SA. In SA the “boogey man” or should I say “boogey men” literally lives in your closet or under your bed. Most killings in SA involve AT LEAST 4 boogey men. I’ve recently read an article in which statistics show that these attacks usually involve 4 – 14 men. In SA, Jack the ripper, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer and Albert Fish awaits you in your kitchen or wakes you while you sleep and the torture begins. If you’re lucky, the all so friendly neighborhood cop joins in the fun. Most of these cases never even make the news. These attacks make the most notorious and gruesome killers of the world look like amateurs. Don’t believe me? Let me name a few of these attacks:
• Attacked by four boogey men - John, 77 and Bina, 76 Cross were attacked on their farm by four men. John was taken to the bathroom and shot in his knees. A shower head was forced down his throat with hot water running. He was then shot dead. Bina was shot in her knees and dragged around the house and tortured for hours, presumably also with boiling water. She was then shot dead.
• Attacked by 6 boogey men – Alice, 76 and her daughter Helen Lotter, 57 were brutally attacked by 6 men. Barely alive, they were found with broken bottles stuck up their genitalia. Ones’ cervix and uterus were missing because they were hacked away by broken bottles and the other in more or less the same condition succumbed to asphyxiation by breathing in blood from stab wound in her neck and throat. One of the attackers, a recently hired gardener was charged and found guilty.
• Attacked by 3 boogey men – The Viana family was tortured to death. Geraldine was gang raped by two of the attackers whilst her husband Tony was forced to watch. He had been hacked with a machete which rendered him helpless. After raping her, 2 of the men broke a bottle and rammed it into her vagina and then shot Tony. After all this, Amano, the 12 year old son of Geraldine and Tony was tortured. They tied his hands and feet and ran boiling water into the bathtub and forced him to get in, face down until he drowned.
These are just a few, and it’s not the worst of it. I’ll only mention a case of an infant whose hands were nailed to a kitchen table and then gang raped until she died by multiple men, or a woman who was tortured and raped with a blow torch, and her husband tortured with boiling water. What about the woman who had holes drilled into her feet and knees while being tortured in other ways or the woman who was gang raped repeatedly and then strung up and gutted? Let me stop.
These are the images that we are bombarded with every single day, NOT on the news, but on social platforms, posted privately as to get the news out. There are literally thousands of these cases, take note that almost every single case involves more than 1 attacker. It’s not often that all the attackers are caught, in fact, in most cases the attackers are never caught, not even 1. Those who are caught, smile and joke while testifying to the horrific things they had done. No remorse. You can’t call them animals, because animals kill solely for survival, to eat and to survive. In SA, those who are killed are the very ones providing for the country. Revenge killings they call it. Really? So nailing an infant to a kitchen table and raping her to death is for revenge? It’s pleasure, as sick as it is, there is no revenge in that. Our predators roam free.
Being a parent in South Africa is not easy. Have you ever just imagined an attack on your family? Have you ever read one of these stories and thought “what if it had been me?”. Have you ever had to think about how to kill your kids painlessly and quickly, to spare them the torture, incase you were attacked by a bunch of boogey men? Let me tell you, in SA it’s a reality each parent is faced with. I am an ordinary person, with an ordinary life, struggling to make a living, and I know very little about politics. But I have eyes, and I see the destruction and devastation across this country. I live in fear every single day. I’m afraid of going to the shop, I’m afraid of sending my children to school, I’m afraid of closing my eyes at night…
A Few weeks ago, a man was attacked on his farm by 20 masked and armed police officers! Who do we trust?
Revenge… Really? I recently read a post in which someone stated that it doesn’t matter if you are innocent, someone must pay for the crimes of your forefathers. Let’s apply that logic for a second, shall we:
There is this guy. He is a law abiding, kind, loving and generous person. He is a fantastic father and loving husband. His kids are adorable. They are being raised and taught to love, and be kind to everyone. His wife is soft hearted and kind. She is always ready to help anyone in need. They are humble. Unfortunately this guy, with his wife and kids must be killed, and gruesomely tortured to death. His 3 year old baby girl has to be raped, and her little body mutilated, her face cut open and her teeth bashed out. His 5 year old boy must be tied up and tortured, then put in an oven, and cooked alive. He and his wife must watch. His wife will also be raped repeatedly, and broken bottles forced and bashed into her genitalia, she must be strung up and gutted. His genitalia must be cut off and cooked in a frying pan and he must be forced to watch as the boogey men eat it. It can be no other way. All the while the boogey men are laughing and cracking jokes… Why? Turns out this guys’ father was a rapist. Actually, this guy is the product of rape. His mother was a victim. Who the hell cares right? At least someone paid for the rapists crimes. THERE IS NO LOGIC IN THAT!
Excuses, that’s all it is. They are excuses to do inexplicable and horrendous things to people and to justify it. If this was really the case and people are paying for the crimes of their forefathers, why are they attacking people of the same race? Why are little children of the same race being gruesomely raped and killed, why are families of the same race being torn apart and killed. Why, why, WHY!!! It’s not a race thing, it’s a hate thing, a sick pleasure thing.
This country is dying. There is no logic in anything that is happening here. There is no logic in some of the laws. There is no logic behind the fact that alcohol is essential and smoking not. There is no logic behind the fact that you may go to church or restaurants, but you may not visit your brother, sister, mother or father at home. There is no logic behind not being allowed to buy t-shirts or open shoes. There is no logic behind justifying the killing of our countries providers! None!
I wish something could be done, I wish someone would listen and take action for once. Let my first thought of the day be “I’m safe” instead of “help us”
