She's essentially a type of talking head that media loves so much. If you're a minority and willing to say things that go against your own ethnicity - there's a market for that and you can personally cash in on that.
The same goes for War Mongering women like the vile Ann Coulter.
She'll say anything to stir up controversy and generate hate and attention from the other side. I think Owens does the same, she knows what she says will play well with a certain demographic and she also knows the other side will HATE her for it. The hate also gives her more attention than she deserves.
Also, just wanted to say that even if George Floyd was a flawed human being with a criminal record a police officers doesn't get to be judge, jury and executioner.
As you point out as well, many of these statistics are cherry picked and ignore the systematic destruction of black communities in Americas inner cities for decades. The War on Drugs has resulted in the mass incarceration of minorities. The US has the highest prison population in the world. Blacks and Latinos are incarcerated at a much higher rate and make up a disproportionately large part of the entire prison population. There are no stop & frisk laws for white people. There are no giant detention centres along the border with Canada.
