RE: Supporter Video | red dye in all your food, made from bugs

in Deep Dives4 years ago

Welp, no more prepared food, no more Android phone (I saw an Android phone send a text the owner did not type or send yesterday), and I'll run my trucks on firewood as necessary. Sad, but doable.

I can make yoghurt, saurkraut, pickles, jams, and etc. as needed. Time to walk my talk regarding decentralization.

Thanks!

Yeah it is interesting really - I'm only thinking about it after your comment - but the more you have mass centralization, the further they always push the bar towards something that is anti human - your right about the food supply - most people would not want to eat bugs. But through centralization most people are now eating bugs without their knowledge. Same goes for everything really - what happened with baby food across the world was a classic example, when lead was found in the baby food - and this was happening year after year - every few years there was another article that said there was lead in the baby food (and of course no mother would want their baby to eat lead) - now, I think they are doing it on purpose. But even if people don't think that - it shows how the expectation, never fits with what is really happening in large centralized systems like in this case the manufacturing of baby food. Of course you could take anything really. Meanwhile, if I eat whole foods, shop at local growers, then I know at least what is in my food - they do not have that vector of control at me anymore. Because I become part of the choice in deciding what I eat. And of course, enriching local growers by buying some of their goods.

Thanks!

"most people would not want to eat bugs."

Well, even hummingbirds that only consume nectar from flowers eat some bugs they suck up accidentally. We've always eaten the odd bug in berries, or fly egg on some meat, etc., but I don't want to eat factory produced bugs, or have it deliberately added to my diet. I'll satisfy my hunger for the occasional bug in the jam from the berries I picked, or that worms it's way into my food (pun intended).

Yeah I know what you mean - they are in the food, but it get enough of them in that, without wanting to eat a bug burger lol - Its going to take some PR to change the perception so we will chow down on crushed bugs with gravy on them, but who knows

Thanks!
