The Art of No: More Than Just a Word

in airhawklast month

What I discovered on this journey of saying No surprised me, as Saying no wasn't the relationship destroying monster I'd feared In fact, when done with grace and clarity it often strengthened my connections with others while transforming my relationship with myself as these techniques became my lifeline the "Yes No" Method. A technique which when a requests came my way I learned to say "I appreciate you thinking of me for this, but I need to focus on my current commitments right now as this approach acknowledges the request while honoring your priorities For work situation but As I began responding I'd be happy to take this on. To make it happen I had to analyze which of my current projects should I deprioritizevat the moment and this reframes the conversation around realistic capacity rather than willingness .

Instead of a blunt refusal I'd offer "I can't commit to that right now but I know someone who might be perfect for it" This maintains generosity while protecting your time .

I will always try to Remember that each no to what doesn't serve you is a resounding yes to what does to your well-being, your passions, your peace and It's not about closing doors but about consciously choosing which ones to walk through .
