You might have read my latest blog post on the importance of self-custody. If you haven't, you can check it out here:

Well, the concept of self-custody is one of the core philosophies of Dash, so they decided to put together a little contest incentivizing folks to practice using self-custody and privacy tools such as DashPay Mobile wallet.
There's a full-length blog post written right here on HIVE: https://peakd.com/dash/@dashpay/join-us-for-selfcustody-september-7pt
But if you want the TL/DR, these are the instructions:
- Buy Dash anywhere
- Withdraw to a self-custody wallet
- Post screenshots (personal info redacted of course) to X of both the withdrawal and the received coins in your wallet
- Tag @Dashpay
For this first week, they'll be giving away 10 Dash to randomly-selected users who follow the above instructions. Not bad, right?
This is my proof of purchase and withdrawal to my DashPay mobile wallet:
The transaction can be verified on-chain of course:

I hope you'll join the contest!

Requiring proof of both the exchange send and the wallet receive is a smart way to get people actually using self custody. Ten Dash this week is plenty of motivation. Does it have to be DashPay for the entry, or would a hardware wallet receive work too? Either way, nice excuse to check those seed backups still make sense.
Did it motivate you to participate?
No. But DashPay is awesome.
